The poets climb the mountain of Purgatorio as they did in Dante's own stories.

We ascended as we had before

Without the noose of life ahead

And climbing up again once more

We saw what once my pen had fashioned

Back when i wrote behind closed door

And I sang of death as I imagined.

I never really left the wood

Despite my comedy I was tragic

But here we march to see the good.

And through each level we ascended

Together with Virgil I knew we would

For with the stars he could defend

My broken soul that yearned for light

And the heart that he so bended.

So thus we clung with all our might

To each the other's calming hand

And there we reached the end of land.
