Chapter 3- Her summer...
Marrissa's summer was fun but, yet it was depressing. She missed all of her friends and the one she grew to love. She didn't realize she was falling in love with him just yet. She waited for him to call every once in a while, he never did. She was so tempted to call him but she knew if she did, he would start to wonder how she had gotten his number.
A couple weeks before school would start, she decided to let him go for now, but deep in her heart she felt like he was still there. She still didn't understand why she liked him so much and her friends seemed to get confused sometimes.
She stayed mostly in touch with her friend Rachel and that's how they had gotten closer. She even visited her for a while until she had to go back home and go back to thinking about him. She would look at his pictures and remember that she would have a chance with him next year.
There was still hope, Rachel would tell her. There is still time. I think you have a chance...
Marrissa believed her but, sometimes she would doubt. Was he really going to be with me? At least, that's what everyone else is saying... She told herself.
Soon it was open house for eighth grade.. Her family was with her and she saw him there. He didn't notice.
Her sisters and mom had found out about him because she mentioned him at the beginning of summer. Her mom wasn't too happy about it. Her little sister loved him, even though all she saw were the two pictures. Her other younger sister didn't care. Sometimes it hurt Marrissa but, sometimes it didn't really matter to her.
Her younger sister had saw him and Marrissa made sure that her little sister didn't open her mouth. Also her mom and her other younger sister saw him.
Marrissa ignored her family and continued to watch him to see if he noticed her. He was really paying attention to the people behind him who were waving at him in the hall where many people were walking past. Marrissa was losing her hope.
She continuously kept telling herself over and over:
Maybe he will notice me on the first day of school....
Maybe he'll say something.....
Maybe he'll like me when I least expect it.......
But inside... she wasn't so sure anymore.
