Taking care of you - Steve Rogers

Requested: Hi i have a request for you Avengers book. Its a Steve x reader. Steve has been away on a mission and the readers been ill and she's pregnant. Steve comes back from the mission and takes care of her as he does he feels the baby kick. That's the idea i have for the request.

Y/n sat on the couch wrapped up in a blanket surrounded by tissues. You had the unfortinute luck of catching the flu while Steve was away on a mission. You were watching Stranger Things on Netflix while rubbing your pregnant belly. You missed Steve, he was on a mission with the Avengers god knows where and you both had no idea when he could return. You thought back to a couple weeks ago when Steve told you he had to go but didn't wanted to leave you alone. 

Just as you clicked on the next episode you heard the door open and close. You jolted up it couldn't be Steve right? He would have let you know he would come back home.  You heard Steve calling out your name and you smiled before standing up and running up to him. As soon as he saw you he dropped his bag and pciked you up kissing you. '' Hey honey i missed you'' he said softly before giving you  another kiss. '' You are so lucky that you have the super soldier serum and can't get sick'' you grumbled while hugging him tight and he chuckled before giving you another kiss and rubbing your swollen belly. 

'' How is our litlle boy in here?'' he asked looking at your stomach and you giggled as he made funny faces. ''She's doeing fine, you know it could also be a girl right Steve'' you said looking at him while raising your eyebrow and he laughed giving your belly a kiss before getting up. ''I still think it's gonna be a boy'' he said while walking to the kitchen. ''Yeah well i think it's gonna be a girl'' you said mostly to yourself but following him into the kitchen. You sat down in chair while Steve made you both some tea. ''How did the mission went?'' you asked him and he looked at you and sighed. ''Tony and Bucky are...still trying to work togehter'' he said while probably thinking about a lot of fights that had happend on the plane. ''And Sam is still pulling pranks on Bucky'' he said and you started laughing remmebering the last prank Sam pulled on Bucky ended up with both of them running away from the Hulk. Steve smiled at you as you laughed and started  making some tea. ''How did it go here?'' he asked you and you sighed ''It was quit boring without all of you keeping me company'' you said refering to him and the other Avengers. ''Maria and Coulson called checking in on me every once in a while but nothing exiting happend i just moslty spend my days watching Netflix'' you said en he chuckled.  He walked back to you with two cups of tea and kissed your temple as he sat down next to you. ''Do you need anything else doll?'' he asked you with some concern laced in his voice. ''No Steve, i'm fine thank you'' you said and gave him a kiss on his cheek while laying your head on his shoulder. He brought the tea back to the living room and you followd him. You snuggled into him on the couch. 

While watching the show together he was softly rubbing your stomach and that's when you felt the kick. Both of you were nearly asleep when the baby gave it's first kick against Steve's hand. Steve just held his hand against your stomach while you were watching him with happy tears in your eyes. ''Did...did the baby just kick?'' Steve asked with a small smile on his face. ''Yeah i think she did'' you said and he just laughed ''Still think it's a boy'' he said and the baby kicked again. ''Defently a boy'' he said and you both laughed. You both spent talking to and rubbing your belly softly for a while before you went to bed. But even in bed Steve kept touching your stomach to try and feel if the baby would kick again. ''I love you Steve'' you said softly looking him in the eyes and he smiled before giving you a long kiss. ''I love you to honey'' he said softly and you smiled and rested your head on his chest before falling asleep. The rest of the night he didn't let go of you and softly rubbed your stomach while you slept.
