"It's nice to meet you Yuni. I hope we can become really great friends." Her voice was softer then her appearance. She had this small blue object on her left shoulder. It was moving, it looked at me and made a high pitched sound. I backed up to the wall with my legs up to my chest. "Don't worry pudge won't hurt you he is just a parakeet." I never heard of a parakeet before. "What's a parakeet?" I asked. I slowly got out of my ball and peaked over the edge of the bed looking at the parakeet. "It's a small bird, most people backed them used them as pets or companions." "You mean the tarnished." She shook her head yes. "These types of pets can fly." She shook her shoulder and the bird glided to the bed. I climbed down my latter and get a better look. "May I touch it?" She shook her head yes. I extended my arm out. I was nervous to touch such a vibrant creature. It jumped over to my hand and rubbed its head in between my fingers. I kinda giggled. It did a little whistle and did it back. It extended its arms out and then found its way onto my head.
"He must really like you." She stuck her arm out and it climbed onto it. She placed it back onto her shoulder. "I can show you more amazing creatures later if you want." I shook my head yes excitedly. I want to see more creatures like that parakeet. I heard a knock on the door.
The door opened and there stood Daniel. "Hey ladies. I hope your getting along, I just wanted to check on our new recruit." "I'm doing fine. I'm starting to like this place it's vary happy but different." I said. "Well good if you want to stay here we have to do the mark. The mark shows that you are willing to be with us." What does he mean mark. They lifted there left hands showing the palm of it. There was a white line that went across it. "What do I do." "Don't worry it's just a cut on the hand. And then when it heals you get this mark. It's not that bad." "Yeah I was nervous when I got mine done. But then I though of the great things here and so much I can do. I just did it." Hanna looked at me with a smile.
I looked at my left palm. I wondered about the things I might learn on the way. The conditions they lived in weren't as clean but it looked great. It shows that they are strong and independent. They don't need anyone to tell how there life goes.
"I'll do it." "Yay!" Hanna hugged me. I could heard the bird make that chirping sound again. "Lets go." Daniel says and we walk out. We started to walk to this platform like thing. It made me think of how the tarnished did plays. There were these seats made of the tress that Daniel told me about.

The seats went up high as it was a tall hill. Some people were in the seats. I started to see more pile to the seats. I'm I going to have to do this in front of people. What if I'm a wimp and I can't do it. Then they would laugh at me. Daniel guides me to the stage and we walk up to the steps. Hanna goes to sit down. I could see Kate, Lizzy, Marco. Lizzy waved and I waved back.
Daniel and I stopped in the middle of the stage. "Okay everyone. Today this girl will live strong. We are going to do the mark to signify that she is independent and free. We all dare the same mark to show that we are with each other. So hold your left hand up please." They all did showing the mark on there hand. Daniel took out this sharp object. "With this knife I shall make the mark. You ready." He whispered the last part to me and I nodded yes.
He placed the object on my hand and did a quick slash at my hand. It stung as I made a hissing sound with my teeth. He took out a long cloth and rapped it in my hand clipping it closed with a pin. "She is now one of us." People clapped and cheered. They all got out of their seats and started to pile closer to me.
