-that night-
"Hey Pa! A friend of mine is coming over, to help me with a project for my science class!" Bella said excitedly, and Paul looked at her.
"Boy or girl?" He asked with a sharp toothed smile. She looked at him and sighed.
"Girl.. Why does it matter?.." She asked and Pat called out from the other room.
"CAUSE WE DON'T WANT YOU IN A RELATIONSHIP YET!" He yelled to the kitchen and she looked at Paul. She lightly punched him in the arm and began laughing. He smiled and ruffled her hair.
-later-
The doorbell rang and Bella answered it, as her family hid their monster looks.
"Hey! I got what we need!" Cat said happily, as she was let in. Ringo ran up to her at the sound of her voice. Cat Freak reached down and petted her, "Aww you're cute.. what's your name?..." She asked the gray tabby cat, who purred in response.
"Oh, her name's Ringo!" Edd responded for the cat, and Cat Freak lifted her head to look at him. Her eyes where covered in a bandage. Paul and Pat walked up, she reached out her hand and shook theirs.
"Hello, I'm Paul and this is my Mate Pat. And you are?" Paul introduced them, she smiled sweetly.
"I'm Cat Freak, but this one-" She elbows Bella lightly, "Prefers to call me Cat. Its very nice to meet the two of you." Pat looked at her strangely, as she kept her polite manners.
"If you don't mind me asking, What is wrong with your eyes?" He asked and her smile disappeared.
"Well...um.. You see... My eyes can't handle light that well.. So this wrapping keeps them protected from it." She explained her voice crackling with pain, and Bella patted her on the back.
"Hey, How about we start working?" She asked with a smile, Cat Freak nodded, and they both walked over to the kitchen. Cat sat down and Bella grabbed a large bowl, setting it down on the table. She sat down beside Cat, who reached into her bookbag and grabbed some glue. She reached back into her book bag and pulled out some liquid starch. "So what now?"
"Well first we mix a cup of glue and a cup of liquid starch together." Cat said and poured the cup of glue into the bowl. Bella poured the cup of starch after her. "Now we mix it up!"
-with Tord-
He had just come downstairs to hear a familiar voice. The one that made him stop in his tracks. He looked into the kitchen to see the same girl from earlier. She and Bella were both laughing.
"Careful you don't want to make a mess!" The girl said laughing, and Bella made a snorting sound.
"Its already all over your face!" Bella snickered, and the girl laughed. Tord looked around the corner as one of the girls walked out with some of what they had made, getting it all over him.
"Oh My... I'm so sorry!" The girl told him as he wiped his face off. "Here let me help you get that off.." She said as she wiped his face off with a wet rag getting all the slime off him. "Are you alright?" She asked, and he nodded, he looked at the girl.
"Oh.... Hey... Tord.. I see you met Cat.." Bella said hesitantly, she wasn't very happy that he had done what he did.
"Again I am really sorry...Tord?..." She sighed, "I've been really clumsy lately.."
"Its fine Cat..." He assured her, she looked at him and took what was left of the slime out to the other room. He was left with Bella as she began to pick up and clean their mess. "Bella about today." She stopped what she was doing for a second.
"Don't even start." She growled, continuing to put the supplies away. She didn't even look at him, he knew she was upset.
"Look I'm-"
"Don't." She hissed cutting him off from what he was trying to say. He growled getting more frustrated, with her.
"What I'm trying to say is-"
"Not right now. I just don't want to hear it. Okay?" She said sternly, and picked up Cat's book bag and put the glue and starch back into it. "You shouldn't be apologizing to me. You should be apologizing to Cat." She told him, and he grabbed her arm.
"Can you listen to me for a second?!" He demanded, and she looked at him.
"I just did." She replied, trying to pull her arm from his hand. He gripped it tighter, he looked at her.
"Will you just. Shut. It." He growled to her, and she looked at him blankly. He felt her tug her arm away and hold it.
"Tord. Just stop, okay. You aren't helping anyone. Just let me help Cat get ready to leave then we can talk." She growled and grabbed Cat's bag and walked out to the other room. Cat looked at her anxiously, she grabbed the arm Tord had and sighed in relief. Bella snickered, "You're strange." Cat Freak smiled proudly, and puffed up her chest.
"And proud to be it!" She laughed, looked at her, in a low whisper she said to Bella, "You know he could have accidentally hurt you... Just let him apologize.." She urged, and Bella frowned, looking at the ground.
"I just can't... Tyrone made 'It' angry... And when it gets angry... It does things.." She sighed, and Cat nodded.
"Show it your sketch book and how it is repaired. Maybe it might not do anything..." Cat suggested and Tord listened into their conversation.
"Maybe... But I just know something bad is going to happen ..." Bella sighed.
"Well what if that is just hinting you to the pop quiz we might have tomorrow?.." Cat asked and Bella rolled her eyes.
"Hmm maybe.." She thought hopefully, Cat handed her a book.
"I think you'll like those pages I marked." She whispered to Bella, who took the book.
"Just go home safe Cat. Alright?" She said opening the door for Cat to leave. Cat paused and nodded.
"I'll try but no promises." She smiled as she left shutting the door behind her. Bella looked at the book, The monsters of the world she shook her head and smiled.
"Silly Cat.." She smiled going upstairs to her room.
