I’m officially addicted to writing one shots, okay so not really I’ve written three but they have been super duper fun to write. I’m glad people seem to like them, sooo I wrote another one; once again doing it instead of studying for my exams 2morrow, I will regret this decision but right now I’m kinda like screw it. Anyway you don’t care, read the story, love the story, be the story.

I was trying to pay attention to him. Lord knows I was trying, I really was but as he droned on and on about his hair routine I was slowly losing the will to live. I interrupted him mid-sentence to call the waiter over and ask for another drink because I was surely going to need it. However this slight interruption did not deter him as he continued on, talking animatedly.

I had come on this date with the best intentions but after he had practically slandered my career and shown his distaste for the internet I knew this was never going to work. Attempting to lighten the mood I cracked a joke “well it’s a wonder you got here tonight, if that’s how long it takes you to do your hair”. Now I’ll admit, that’s wasn’t my best, but in all honesty the guy could crack a smile; he just sat there with a blank expression and then even had the audacity to scoff at me. The waiter came back with my drink and I chucked it back, praying for some kind of release from this atrocious date.

Okay maybe I was being a bit melodramatic, the guy was nice. He was handsome with sandy blond hair and brown eyes. He was tall and well-built and sure when he wasn’t talking about his hair, the conversation wasn’t that bad. But we just weren’t compatible, we had none of the same interests and completely polar opposite senses of humour and well that’s was just a no go with me. I needed someone who could make me laugh in a relationship and that was not happening here.

Coming to this conclusion, I no longer saw the point of dragging this date out any longer. I pretended to get a message and fabricated some story about an emergency. Hastily I said my goodbyes and departed. Once I was in my car driving home, I felt a mixture of relief and disappointment. It had been so long since I dated anyone and sometimes that really sucked, so I had kind of been hoping this would go well. I sighed switching on the radio, just as Sara Bareilles song ‘brave’ started, instantly making me think of Troye. Troye. I was suddenly over come with the urge to see him and for once I actually could and not just through a screen. Whipping out my phone I dialed his number.

“Hi tilly” his voice sang happily through the phone, immediately making my face break out into a massive smile.

“Hey where are you, are you busy? I wanna hang out” I asked still smiling like an idiot.

“We were just together a few hours ago” he responded but I could hear the smile in his voice

“Yeah but I miss that beautiful accent and I need cheering up after that disaster of a date”

“Didn’t go well huh? I’m at the hotel, come over and we can order pizza and have tumblr time”

“Yayy! I cheered through the phone “I’ll be there in 5”

I raced over to his hotel, going faster than I probably should have but I was too eager to see him. He always knew just what I needed. When I arrived I banged on the door, listening to the movement from the other side.

Troyes sleepy head popped out from behind it, smiling widely as he cracked a stupid joke. I laughed rather obnoxiously as I examined his grinning face. His brown hair was ruffled and his blue eyes shone brightly, his cheeks a faint shade of pink. It was at that moment that I couldn’t help but think how much I preferred him to any muscular, blonde haired guy and how I wished I had stayed snuggled up in his hotel room scrolling through tumblr and laughing at his silly jokes. He grabbed my arm yanking me into the room “I ordered room service about ten minutes ago they should be here soon”.

I nodded happily flopping down on the bed beside him, as he plucked up his laptop.

“Fuck, I forgot my laptop” I groaned.

“Aww tilly were you too excited to see me, that you forgot your prized possession”.

Rolling my eyes I said sarcastically “okayyyyy” trying to play off the accuracy of that comment. He chuckled “It’s fine, want to watch a movie?”

I agreed to this suggestion just as there was a knock on the door. Troye hopped up sauntering over to it, calling back to me “Pick out a movie”. I smirked to myself already knowing what to pick. I settled myself under the covers as Troye thanked the lady bringing the food back over to the bed and hopping in beside me. When he saw what movie I had picked out his face was priceless and I couldn’t help but throw my head back laughing. “Tillyyyy” he whined “we are NOT watching this”.

I pouted “why not, pleaseee, be nice”.

“No” he stated attempting to turn it off; I grabbed his hands pinning them back making him squirm. Seeing my opportunity I began tickling him, making him laugh uncontrollably. His laugh was infectious and soon the two of us were bent over in stiches. When we finally regained our composure I wiped away a few tears that had rolled down my face, clutching my stomach. There was nothing better than laughing so much your stomach hurt.

“Okay fine we can watch it but I swear to god if you slag me I will post every embarrassing picture I have of you onto twitter” Troye said snuggling back into the duvet. Copying him, I pulled the covers around me, grabbing a piece of pizza “deal”

Clicking play, I giggled as Troye groaned beside me once he saw his own face on the screen. “I can’t believe I agreed to let you watch Spud”.

“Shhhh, it’s starting” I said nuzzling into him. He sighed resting his head on mine, finally resigned to the fact that this is what we were going to watch. I smiled softly to myself, flattered that he was agreeing to watch this even though he didn’t want to, just to make me happy. My face still hurt from laughing but in the best way possible and I was comfy and safe. I couldn’t help but think how stupid I had been, why was I going on dates trying to find the perfect guy when he was right here beside me.
