I am Cristian and I pray every night,
To wake up without drowsiness to fight.
Because of classes that start at seven,
I have to leave my, oh, so safe haven.
I hate my teachers; I hate studying,
I hate my assignments; I hate thinking,
My subjects are a bore; my lessons, worse,
My exams and quizzes, I loathe, I curse.
But one day, this one miracle happened,
When the classroom door clicked, moved, and opened.
And you entered in--a beauty so rare,
And sat beside me, pretty Mary Claire.
Oh, Mary Claire! Oh, Mary Claire!
We are a lovely pair!
You changed me now! My life just flared!
Oh, thank you! Mary Claire!
You helped me in the homeworks I can't make,
You made me love subjects I couldn't take,
You are the reason why I like Math now,
And I greet teachers "Good day!" with a bow.
My scores increased from passing to perfect,
Grades of A, to my report card are decked,
I liked my teachers and they liked me, too.
Now, I'm better and it's because of you.
And as days passed by, as we spent time more,
Love majestically opened its door.
I see you, now, not as a helping friend,
But the girl of my dreams. I won't pretend.
Oh, Mary Claire! Oh, Mary Claire!
My love is in the air!
Your eyes are black! Your skin is fair!
Please say yes, Mary Claire!
I courted you from April to July,
You answered me yes! I rejoiced and cried!
I even made goals for my future life:
To study harder for my future wife.
I thought of my future job and college,
It's weird because I never thought of this,
Until just now when you entered my life--
Saved me from drowning in the sea of strife.
We enjoyed love's gift for a year or so,
We're seniors both when your face showed sorrow,
I asked you, "What's wrong in this time of year?"
