Eden's P.O.V
"Baby, we will be heading to the Philippines with your father." Mom told me with a worried expression on her face. She kept looking back. She's anxious. Scared. And being a child I could not do anthing about it. I'm just 12 what do you expect me to do?
"B-but why? We're perfectly fine here. And besides... I don't wanna leave Nana and Johnny!" I protested. I can't leave my grandmom and my best friend!
"I know you'll say that sweetie but please. We really need to leave. We don't have a choice and enough time. Pick up your bags and head outside. I'll follow as soon as I can." Mom commanded.
So basically mom wants me to go with her and dad in the Philippines which I still have no idea on where that is... I know I'm half Filipino but my parents never took me there... So yeah. I don't even know how to speak their language. Okay I'm screwed. I've lived here in Scotland from birth till now. I know how to speak Scottish Gaelic but I'm more fluent in English since I'm home schooled and the school that I'm in doesn't teach the Scottish Gaelic. Thus I speak with Nana, my grandmother, in that language.
I was in my thoughts when a voice shouted
"Eden! Ruith, a-nis!"
It was my Nana's voice telling me to run. Before I had the chance to ask, my feet are already taking me places. It felt like I had no control in my body. It moves by itself.
A few walks later my feet led me to a car, an old one. I was shocked to see my dad, and my mom inside, as well as my bags. What the- How the hell did that happen? Impossible.
"Eden! What are you waiting for?! Get inside!" my mom shouted with a Scottish accent. Okay! Geez!
"Mom? Why are we leaving Scotland?" I asked as soon as I entered the car.
"Long story." She answered. She was driving so her attention was on the road.
"Dad?" I asked.
"Sorry sweetie. Dad can't tell you right now. But soon. You'll know." He replied.
"Seriously? No one's gonna answer me? Ugh?!" I said. I was so frustrated that I kicked the seat in front of me. And out of boredom... I just slept my way to the airport.
"Eden. Wake up. We're here."
I opened my eyes and analyzed the place. We've arrived at the Philippines, I guess? I walked toward the escalator that has a sign that says "Arrival". I think we're here.
So we got our bags and head outside. While walking, people around us, that came out of no where started shouting
"Mabuhay! Welcome to the Island of the Philippines!"What the? Are people here really that hospitable? Like we don't even know them. Literally. If I were to do that in Scotland, people would think that I'm a total psycho. I swear. They would look at me as if I deserve to be in an asylum or something.
I just ignored them and went towards where my parents are at.
"Eden. Starting this June you'll be attending at a private school here in the Philippines." My mom said.
"S-so you mean... No more home school? Like I would meet actual people? Like alive?" I asked. What do you want me to do? I only have one friend here in Scotland. I was never allowed to go outside. Never. I've never seen a bus or any store ever. So being out in the public makes me nervous. Like how the hell would I greet? Ugh!
"Yes, nak. You'll be attending Golden Gates Elite University." Dad answered. Elite? Since when did we became elite? I don't even have a phone. I'm so confused right now.
"Okay? Do I have a choice?" I said with an awkward tone then shrugged.
"Nope." They answered.
"Exactly what I thought." I whispered.
"Let's go home. The sun is setting. We should be there by night." My mom said. We have a home? Since when? Okay I sound like a total dumbo.
We went out to call a cab. I had a jet lag so I just slept the whole trip. I was too lazy to even be awake the whole ride.
"Honey, We're here."
"Uh? Oh." I was surprised with what I saw. Mansion. Is this ours? We own this? Wait, what? In Scotland we literally are living in a house in the middle of the forest. And now our house is this? A mansion in the city. You've got to be kidding me.
"Yaya. Pakidala na lang yung mga gamit ni Eden sa Kwarto niya. Pati narin yung amin. Salamat." Dad spoke all of a sudden. A maid came and got my luggage. I heard my name but did not understand even a letter of what He said. I really need to study their language. Like really.
"Eden, you should rest. It was a long flight. I'm pretty sure you're tired. You should go to your room. Yaya paki lead naman si Eden, oh." Mom said. Wait what did she said in the last part? It was I guess tagalong? Talagong? What was that? Ta-tagalog? Yup. I remembered it being like that. Ugh.
Another maid came near me and said "Ma'am Eden dito po." What? I do not understand a word she said. Okay I look like a dumbass here. Help.
"Pardon?"
"I-I mean this... This... Ano nga ba yun? Napapaenglish ako dito eh... Um... This way... Room!" She answered. What the heck was that? Well I guess she's telling me the way to my room. I really need to read a book or two about Tagalog words. It's making me look and sound dumb.
We went to my room and not even a second in the maid suddenly asked "Ma'am how old are you?"
"12. I'm 12 years old"
"You-you're just 12?! You're tall. Very tall."
"Uh... Thanks?"
"Okay ma'am I'll go na. You should sleep, you know."
"Okay. Goodbye." I locked the door and immediately plopped myself towards my bed. It was bigger than my old one. Like 3 times bigger. This one is really huge. Like monstrous! I like it. My room was all white with a few rose gold objects. Those were my favorite combination of colors. Metallic and Neutral ones. It was just so elegant. And cool.
"I really need to rest." I closed my eyes and went to my Lalaland.
