Chapter 8: Sorry

Eden's POV

Next morning I woke up with the blaring alam of none other than

"BARBARA!!!"

Agad-agad siyang tumayo mula sa kinahihigaan niya at sumigaw

"AHHHHHH!!!"

"Takte ka, keso. Ano bang problema mo?!"

"Gising na! Alis tayo."

"Wala bang pasok?"

"Maintenance day." Kada month kailangang i-maintain yung school kaya laging may isang day of the month na walang pasok dahil dito.

"Oo nga pala... San tayo pupunta?"

"Diba may resort kayo? Punta tayo dun!"

"Ge. Kasama ba sila Daniel at Mark?"

"Yup."

"Ikaw magsabi. Tinatamad ako."

"Text lang eh. Dali na wala akong load."

"Wow pano naman ako?! Two million times atang nagtext mama mo. At two million times din akong nagreply!"

"Shit." Bulong ko. It mean I gotta go down. Layo naman! Takte yan!

I went down and walked toward the boys' wing.

Knock knock

No answer? Ito dorm nila diba?

Knock knock

"Oh?" Tumingin ito saakin at biglang- "EDEN?!"

"Ay hindi-"

"SAN KA GALING?! Alalang alala sayo si Mark." Sigaw ni Daniel.

"Nasan si-"

"Kupal sino nandyan?"

Mark.

"Ako." Sigaw ko. Wala pang isang sigundo narinig ko na ang nagmamadaling dabog ng paa ni Mark papuntang pintuan. Shoot. I'm dead.

"EDEN!!!" He cried as he hugged me tighter than ever. Dude. Chill.

"San ka galing?!" He asked.

"No time. We're leaving."

"To where?" Daniel asked.

"Resort." I looked around their dorm. Damn this sht's dirty. "Better pack up boys. We leaving in 30 mins."

"Wait aren't you gon-" Mark wasn't able to finish his sentence.

"I said no time! I'll tell you later, okay?" I dashed down the hall. I'm guilty. I can't stand looking at him like that. He looked so vulnerable. So scared. Worried. My heart was filled with overwhelming guilt. I made him like that. I made him anxious.

"Hey cheese, I packed your stuff since you took so long." Barbara stated.

"You brought my rash guard?"

"Uhm... I got you an upgrade." She grinned the most evil grin I've ever seen my whole life. What is it this time barbs?

"Whatever. The boys are coming here in a bit." I stated. I don't even care anymore at this point.

"Have you talked to him?" Barbara asked out of the blue.

"Him?"

"Don't play dumb, Eden. You know who I mean." She said.

"Nope. Nagui-guilty ako pagnakikita ko siya, Barbs. Nung umiyak siya nung niyayakap niya ako... parang gusto ko nalang matunaw. I can't face it. I mean seeing him like that. It's like elementary school all over again. The time where he was weak. Tapos kailangan ko siyang protektahan. Yung takot niya nararamdaman ko. Hindi ko kayang makita siya na natatakot. Kinakabahan. Nasasaktan. Parang dinudurog ako."

"But doesn't he deserve the right to know what happen to his bestfriend? He was worried sick. He wondered like a lunatic just to find you."

"I know, barbs. But I don't think I can do it right now."

"Then do it later. Okay? Wag mo hayaang dumaan yung araw na hindi niya alam yung nangyari sayo. Kasi para mo narin siyang pinatay."

"We're here!" Mark and Daniel said in unison

"Celebration ba to sa pagbalik ni Barbs?" Daniel asked with a smile in his face

"Uhm... you can say that." Barbs answered. "Let's go?"

We went inside the mini van and drove off. I was the designated driver since they don't have a license yet. Well, I'm legally not yet allowed to have a license since I'm just 17 but may kakilala sila mama sa dmv so it was processed and boom. I have a license.

"Matagal pa ba???" Buryong tanong ni Daniel.

"Dude we've been on the road for just an hour. Can't you wait?" Mark uttered.

I continued to ignore them kahit katabi ko lamg si Mark.

"Eden."

"Yes, mark?

"Why'd you left?" I looked at him confusingly.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you disappeared without telling anyone anything. What did you want me to think?" He looked at me. Damn mark. Don't do that thing. It hurts my heart.
