Chapter 5: Discovery

I was heading towards my locker still unable to digest what happened the previous Saturday. Lucas O ’Connell really helped me. I was lost in my thoughts that I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder.  I shuddered and turned around to see who was it and found Jessica smiling like an idiot. 

"You almost scared me to death" I said rolling my eyes.

But she didn't reply instead her stupid smile turned wider. Now she was literally grinning from ear to ear.  "What's up with you, Jess? " I asked while raising my eyebrow.

She didn’t say anything and just grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the playground of our school. Once we were in the playground she left my hand and began to speak

"Katie! Katie! You just don’t know what happened on Saturday night. . Jeez. . He asked me out. I still can’t believe  but yes he really did that.  OMG I don't know what to do. I was so overwhelmed that I started screaming the moment I got his text and. ..." She said without taking a breath in between.

"Hold on! Hold on! Who?  Take a breath" I said while trying to know the reason behind my friend’s anticipation.

"Kat, You don't know I have been crushing on him since 2 years now and finally he noticed me and not just noticed but asked me out as well. " Jessica said grinning and her blue eyes were sparkling.

"Will you tell me now who is that PERSON who drove my dearest friend nuts. " I said while emphasizing  on the word person.

She inhaled some air and finally told me.

"Lucas O Connell"

Upon hearing his name I bursted out laughing. Jessica’s expression  changed and she looked at me in astonishment. 

"Now I think You are going nuts.  Why are you l aughing like some insane girl in the asylum? " She raised her eyebrow.

I was almost rolling on floor while laughing. I regained my composure and sat up.  I held back my laugh and told her that I knew Lucas from my primary school and how he used to bully me all the time back in school and that he is my  boyfriend’s  best friend. 

"Katie Bones! There is nothing to laugh about it.  And why didn't you tell me before that you knew Lucas.  Gosh!  You are so ... "

"awesome .. I know" I completed the sentence for her. She rolled her eyes. "And how do you know him? " I said sarcastically.

"Don’t tell me I didn’t tell you before about him? I am really sorry if I didn’t."

How do you feel when you discover that your best friend who is with you for almost 2 months now hasn't told you about her crush.  Yes exactly I was having that same kind of feeling.  I wanted to fight with her over this that how is she going to justify it but I sometimes hate myself for being so calm.  I don’t have that bluntness in me and sometimes I just don't like it at all.  I am a sort of reserved person, not shy, but yes reserved.

"Are you even listening to me?" Jessica snapped me out of my thoughts.

I guess I am spacing out more than usual these days.

"Ohh yeah yeah I was just ..."

"spacing out while thinking of my boyfriend’s sexy body" She completed my sentence and burst into laughter.

I nudged her with my elbow "Its not that funny! " I rolled my eyes.

"I know  .. I know but your face was just like that"

"Now complete your story already? " I remarked.

"I would have completed it only if you were not spacing out while. ..."

"Well repeat it then" I demanded with a slight chuckle.

"Okay then this is the last time I am telling you. Actually we are family friends.  Our fathers are business partners and we somewhat know each other from our childhood. "

She said while looking distantly like she was reminiscing the past.

"And you were in love with him since your childhood." I stated like I knew it despite the fact I didn't and I was just asking her. 

"Yeah To be honest I had a crush on him back then as well. " She blushed a little.

"OMG you are blushing Jess!  So sweet. Just his name can make you blush I wonder what will happen when he will be with you. " I said amusingly.

Jessica blushed even more on this and just managed to say "ohh  you!! stop it now. "

With that our teacher entered the room and our class started.

As the class finished I was proceeding my lockers when Claire came out of nowhere and hugged me and with her I saw Sarah and Emily as well.

"So here you are.  I  have been looking for you since morning !"

Sarah is also the part of my group. We are 5 people in total. Jessica,  Sarah,  Emily, Claire and I.

Claire is a bit shy type and she doesnot open in front of everyone. I am the only person with whom she shares her things.

Emily is a cool girl and is interested in every gossip.  Typical girl she is.

Sarah is my sister from another mother. I mean we are so much alike and we all have a little world of our own now.

Okay so here is another chapter.  I know it is really short but I just wanted to seperate it from the coming chapter as it will be an important chapter of the story.  There is much more to come.  I have been working on the next chapter already. I hope I will be updating it soon. I promise it will get really interesting from next chapter.  I am trying my best to make it interesting. I need your support and votes :)
