Walking into the hospital six minutes before his shift, Kim Jongin was immediately engulfed with the smell of cleaning products due to the hospitals constant necessity to keep the place sanitary. He walked up to the counter where all the female nurses where gossiping among themselves about the recent drama that has been happening around the hospital. Kim Jongin greeted them and asked for his clipboard since it wasn't in its usual spot. The nurse who secretly had a crush on Dr. Kim handed him his clipboard. Kim Jongin thanked her then turned to proceed with his duties. Not even a second later and Dr. Kim could already hear the nurse squealing to the rest of the nurses. He smiled but continued with his duties.
Looking for room 235 , Kim Jongin was currently checking his clipboard, reading the current conditions of the next patient. As Jongin was about to enter the patient's assigned room, the sirens went off indicating that the Emergency Medical Technicians arrived and brought another person in need of emergency care. Dr. Kim handed his clipboard to a nearby nurse so she would hold on to it for him till he got back. Once she understood her task he left running to the lobby. He arrived there as the nurses were rushing the unconscious patient in. Dr. Kim spotted Park Chanyeol who used to be a doctor but for personal reasons lowered to an EMT about three years ago during the summer. Park Chanyeol noticed Dr. Kim running towards him and informed him on everything.
"Let's get to the point Jongin. This patient is in his late 40s. He's been shot twice in the chest and most likely will need surgery since he is going into cardiac arrest. We did our best now it's your turn to save this patient." Chanyeol stated as he kept moving towards the surgery area. He didn't even ask for Jongin's opinion, Chanyeol just seemed to take matters into his own hands. He was right though if the patient is going into cardiac arrest, the patient would need immediate surgery.
"Carry on Chanyeol, I'll inform my team and we'll get right to it, " Jongin spoke up after Chanyeol finished up his statement.
"I'm counting on you, " Chanyeol answered. Jongin nodded then looked down at the patient. He recognized him instantly. He wasn't certain from where but the man did look familiar. Dr. Kim glanced back at Chanyeol and stepped away from signaling that the conversation ended. Chanyeol and the rest of the nurses now helping him took the patient to the surgery center. Jongin took out his phone and called Oh Sehun. It took four rings before he answered.
"Yeah?" Dr. Oh answered.
"Get the team ready. I'll be there in a bit. The patient is a male in his late 40s. He's been shot in the chest and is in danger of going into cardiac arrest," Dr. Kim answered then hung up. He turned around to start walking towards the surgery center only to see a man in his early 20s stare at him. Dr. Kim was startled at first but walked up to the man afterwards.
"May I help you?" Dr. Kim asked as the man kept a serious face.
"Please save my father's life," This instantly triggered Kim Jongin's memories. It was Do Kyungsoo the man who was out there seeking revenge on a criminal who has not been seen since three years ago.
"Of course sir, thank you for making Seoul a safer place," Kim Jongin said as he quickly bowed. Kyungsoo bowed after him.
"Thank you in advanced, for doing your best to save my father's life," Kyungsoo spoke up.
"I will do my best but I can't guarantee you that he'll come out... alive," Jongin spoke before departing himself and leaving to the surgery room. Kyungsoo nodded and looked up into the celling pleading that his father come out safe.

Dr. Kim paced himself and made it to the surgery room. He changed his attire to a disposable surgical gown and washed his hands thoroughly. He entered the surgery room and instantly two circulating tech placed gloves on Jongin's hands and tied his surgical gown. The surgeon looked over at the anesthesiologist.
"Dr. Byun, is the patient prepared for surgery?" Dr. Kim asked as he went to his position.
"Yes, he is ready to go, " Dr. Byun replied as he looked away from the monitor.
"Than let's get started everyone do you best and all should turn out well," Dr. Kim stated as he made eye contact with everyone in the room.
"Scalpel," Dr. Kim commanded and Kim Minseok or Dr. K, the scrub technician handed him the scalpel and watched as Dr. Kim started surgery procedures. Dr. Kim as well has a resident surgeon in the room with him for back up. This position was taken by no other than his best friend Dr. Oh.
Kim Jongin performed Anterolateral Thoracotomy on the patient to gain access to the heart Dr. Kim was greeted with a thick red substance that filled his chest.
"Suction," Dr. Kim announced. Dr. Oh got a hold of the suction device and started clearing the chest area by removing all the blood that leaked before medical procedures were taken to prevent blood loss during surgery. Dr. Kim located both bullets that were lodged into the patient's tissue.
"Dr. Oh," Kim Jongin spoke up.
"I'm on it. Retractors," Dr. Oh spoke to both Dr. Kim and Dr. K. He was handed the retractor and he used it to open up the parts where the bullet was so there would be no complications of other tissues to get in the way. Dr. Oh nodded at Dr. Kim once he was finished and Dr. Kim proceeded and asked for the forceps. Dr. K handed him the forceps and Dr. Kim begun the actual procedure.
Dr. Kim carefully removed the first bullet that was easier out of the two. He placed the bullet on the tray and went in for the next one. As he removed the next silver bullet which was closer to the heart. Dr. Byun noticed a sudden change in the monitor. The patients vital signs was decreasing. The patient was dying. Kyungsoo's father was dying.
