We have been driving for at least 45 minutes now, and we're currently on some dirt track and starting to go up hill. I don't question where we're going, trusting in Grayson and thinking he probably wants to keep it a surprise.

We've had small conversations here and there, but the the long periods of silence we encountered wasn't awkward, it was peaceful and I appreciated his company.

We soon come to a stop and Grayson switches the gear to park. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, but why did Grayson bring me here? To cuddle in the back of his truck and stare up at the stars? Actually now that I think about it, that sounds like a really cute idea.

I stare out of the passenger seat window, distracting me from my curious thoughts, as I analyse the view from the cliff we're on. It consists of the most gorgeous nature elements I have ever seen.

All different types of beautiful plants and trees, the stars and moon shining brightly over them (9:05pm).

I turn to look over at Grayson, noticing he too was looking at me. I glance him a small smile and he returns the gesture.

He soon breaks the silence, that like I said, wasn't actually awkward, "we drove around a little longer than we needed to, but I had to make sure Ethan and his girlfriend set everything up for the surprise." As he says this, he points over to a picnic table to the right of our view from the windscreen.

I look over to where he pointed, noticing a lone picnic table, with lit candles sitting on top, the flames swaying slightly in the calming and little-to-nothing breeze.

Wow. He's honestly so sweet, did he really plan this all for me?

"All this for me? Really?" I ask, repeating my thoughts, as I stare into his eyes, those that I could literally get lost in.

"Of course, it's what you deserve," he replies, smiling again, causing me to smile back.

We get out of the car and Grayson makes sure it's locked. I walked around to the side he is on and as we begin walking over to the table, he takes my right hand in his, locking our fingers.

"The scene is not nearly as beautiful as you," He says, as he places a chocolate dipped strawberry into my mouth.

I giggle, biting the strawberry, leaving him holding onto the stem and leaves. "You're so cheesy," I say.

"Oh, come on, you know you love it when I'm cheesy," he jokes.

"It's true, I do," I say, as we stare into each other's eyes, enjoying the peace of the nature and the presence of the other.

"So what's this maths test on?" He asks, seeming genuinely interested in what's going on in my life.

"Ugggh," I sigh. "Algebra. I'm not bad at it, it just bores the absolute shit outta me."

"Tell me about it, so boring!" He teases, drawing about the "o" in "so". We laugh and then he mentions my music.

"How long have you been singing? I still can't believe that the voice you have is even humanly possible. Teach me your sneaky ways," he jokes.

"I don't know, since I was 6?" I question, genuinely not knowing the answer myself.

"Do you sing? Or play?" I ask, curious as to what the answer would be.

"I can't sing for the life of me, but I play the piano and drums, just not at school."

I chuckle at the first part of that sentence. "Oh that's really cool. Where do you play, if you don't mind me asking?"

"No where special. You know just my bedroom or for my grandmother if she wants me to play her a new piece I wrote," he shyly answers.

"Awh! Wait, you write music?" I ask.

"Yeah! And you sing, the perfect duo," he smirks. "Although, my music isn't really that great. It has a lot of areas I could improve in, but no ones perfect." He adds.

We talk a little more about our musical lives and the achievements we have accomplished for our talents. The more I get to know him, the more I fall in love with him. I've never felt this way.

"Anyway, you want some more?" Grayson asks, gesturing at the little snacks he had earlier packed and made Ethan bring along to surprise me, as he begins to pack them up.

"Nah, I'm good," I say, grabbing a dirty napkin and putting it into a grocery bag we used for our rubbish.

"Why don't you say we lay in the back of my truck and just enjoy the stars? It's also getting a little chilly, so we should snuggle up, you know, to feel warmer?" He asks, setting down the items in his hands, smiling.

I give him a convincing smile and say, "I'd love to."
