RING! RING!
"Class dismissed, enjoy your lunch break," Mr. Peters says, as he closes the history textbook sitting on his desk.I quickly get out of my seat, pushing my chair in. After leaving the classroom, I head straight to my locker, because today is the day my best friend gets back from vacation and she's meeting me at the oval. I can't wait to see her, I've missed her so much!
She was gone for 2 months, seeing family over in Germany. The timezones confused me (and her), it was hard to know when she was asleep or not, so we didn't end up texting as much as we would've hoped.
The halls are overly crowded, so I squeeze my way through multiple groups of people, ducking to dodge getting elbowed in the head and knocked with stacks of heavy text books.
I get to my locker, do my combination and throw my books messily onto the shelf. "Here we go!" I whisper, thinking only I could hear myself.
"Where are we going?" I hear a guy ask from behind me. I slowly turn around, looking up to see a tall, popular kid smirking at me. Grayson. Grayson Dolan. Why is he talking to me? Why is he not making out with some chick in the bathrooms? Damn he's fine though. Wait what did he ask me?
"Hello?" He asks, breaking my train of thought. "Uh-uh I'm going to meet up with a fr-friend." I say, trying to play it cool. He giggles and I'm confused as to why. Did I stutter? I tend to when I'm nervous. Am I blushing? Oh no, I am, I can feel my cheeks have begun to heat.
"Fine. Text me later then," he winks, handing me a small piece of crinkled paper and closing my fingers around it. His number.

"He gave you his number?!" My best friend screams with excitement, but also shock. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked too.
"Yes! But could you keep it down please? I don't want all the crazy girls coming after me" I chuckle. It's true, Grayson can't even walk the halls without so many girls smirking, winking, blushing and hitting on him.
I've never had a crush on this dude, or at least I think I haven't. I've just seen him as cute,. And by that, I mean like reallyyyyyy handsome. But still, I was never interested in dating him. I had just come to the realisation that I wasn't the type of girl for him.
"So what did he say? Where is he taking you on your first date?" Alexia (my best friend) asks, bombarding me with questions I don't really have interesting answers to.
"All he said was 'text me' and there's no first date, are you kidding me? He's probably just gonna be like the rest of the guys at this school. Fuckboys." I laugh, but deep down I was hoping what I said was a false statement. Grayson seems like a dude that would be nothing but loyal and treat his girl like an absolute queen, but could it all be an act?

I get home and start to stress about my maths test coming up in two days that I really need to study for. We are allowed to have a sheet of notes and formulas during the test, so I have to write one too. Poor Alexia. Today was her first day back at school and they're still forcing her to sit the test on Thursday. Rude, I know. But luckily, she's the smartest person I know. She'll ace it, without a doubt.
"I should probably shower now," I say, lazily pushing my math books aside, to deal with them when I can be bothered.
I go to the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I turn the water on, adjusting it to the perfect warm-hot temperature. I rest my hand under the shower head, to see if the water is hot enough. Satisfied with the temperature, I pull my hand back and quickly undress, throwing my clothes into a pile by the sink.
I hop into the steaming shower, allowing the water to relaxingly trickle down my back, releasing all stress, worry and tension from my body.
Feeling calm and at ease, I can't help but stare down at my bare body. My expression quickly changes.
My thighs have never been slim, the kind a guy would rest his hand on while driving. My stomach has never been flat, perfect for those bikini photo shoots. My body has never been one I'm confident in, to strut my stuff to the rest of the world. The only thing I can say about the figure I have, is that it brings me insecurities. Many of them in fact.
