Gotcha!

Summary: The reader decides it would be a good idea to Rick Roll Team Free Will

I haven't been much of a prankster. I mean, it had never really been that satisfying to me. And yet here I was, looking for fake videos to have Sam, Dean, and Cas watch. Just for the heck of it.

I got the idea after having been "Rick Rolled" myself. I hadn't been Rick Rolled in a long time and the experience was funnier to me than it probably should have been. After laughing for a solid 5 minutes, I started wondering what the boys' reactions would be if it happened to them.

I finally found the perfect video: a fake news report about vampires. This video was totally made for them.

It just so happened that Sam was alone in the library so I decided to show him the video first.

"Hey Sam," I called, trying not to smile when he looked up at me. Smiling would ruin the whole plan. "I think we might have a case. It's weird."

"Oh cool. What is it?" he asked, closing the book he was reading.

"Check this out." I handed him my phone, the video ready to play.

He pressed play and I kept my eyes glued to his face, watching every reaction to the video.

"What the? This is weird. How the-"

Then the music filled the room, the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley beginning to play.

"Oh haha very funny," he laughed as he handed my phone back to me.

"That's it?" I questioned. I had expected a funnier reaction. This was quite disappointing.

"Y/N, I do a lot of the research on cases. You don't think that little prank hasn't popped up more than once?" he chuckled, "Points for trying though."

"Well you're no fun," I huffed. He had a point, though, I hadn't thought of that. "I hope Dean and Cas have better reactions than you."

"Ha, tell me when you're about to get Cas. I have a feeling I know what Dean's reaction will be. But I wanna see Cas."

I nodded, "You got it." Leaving Sam, I went down the hall to Dean's room.

"Dean?" I knocked on the door.

"Come in."

I entered his room, and getting straight to the point, I gave him my phone. "I think we might have a new case. It's a doozy; check this out."

He pressed play on the video and it was hard to contain my laughter as the music video started to play.

"What the heck?" he questioned, "What am I looking at right now?"

I started laughing pretty hard and it took a second to pull myself together. This was fun. Maybe I should start pranking more often!

"No, I'm serious, what the actual heck am I looking at right now?" The music was still playing and Dean was still staring at the screen.

"I just Rick Rolled you!" I chuckled.

"You what?"

"I Rick Rolled you," I repeated, smirking.

"I heard you the first time." Dean pressed pause on the video and the song that was starting to grow on you stopped. "What?" he asked, confused.

"Are you asking what I did to you or are you just shocked?"

"I'm asking why I am watching this horrible guy sing this horrible song. Don't even get me started on his dancing." He didn't even look the least bit amused which made me laugh again.

"That's how it works, Deanny boy." I smiled, "Can I have my phone back, please?" I held out my hand, waiting for him to place my phone back in my hands.

"I'm not sure." It was his turn to smirk. "That was an awful thing you did to me. I don't think you deserve it back."

"Shut up." I shoved him a little. "I need my phone if I'm gonna do it to Cas."

"Cas? Ha. I wanna see that." He gave me my phone back and stood up.

"Well okay then. You have two options though: either come with me while I show him the video and play along or watch from afar. Sam already said he wanted to come."

"I guess I'll watch from the sidelines with Sammy." He chuckled softly, "Man, this is gonna be good."

"Alright, come on you big dork, let's go get Sam."

A few minutes later, I was approaching Cas. He was sitting outside near the car. I had called him a few moments before, telling him it was urgent. I kinda felt sorry for lying to him. He was innocent after all.

I told Sam and Dean to find somewhere they could watch and then left them so I could carry out my plan.

"Hey Cas!" I greeted as I approached him, "We have a case and need your help."

"I'm happy to help, Y/N. What is it?" he smiled.

"Here," I gave him my phone and clicked play for him.

Different expressions crossed his face as he watched the beginning of the video. I looked around, trying to spot the boys before the music video started playing. I spotted them just as the music started and looked back at Cas. His face had gone from one curiosity to one of pure confusion.

"I don't understand." His brow furrowed as he kept watching the video. I could hear Sam and Dean's laughter from where they were hiding; if you could call it hiding anymore. Cas lifted his head and turned towards the sound of laughter and found them. This only seemed to confuse the angel even more. "I don't understand," he repeated.

I burst into a fit of laughter along with the boys and Cas just stood there, confused and wondering what was so funny.

"Why do you find this so amusing?" Cas asked as Sam and Dean came up to join me.

"Oh, because it is!" Dean answered, still laughing.

Cas looked at Sam and Dean with a look of hurt, "You find this funny as well."

"Obviously, Cas. She Rick Rolled you," Sam replied.

"I don't understand," Cas repeated once again. "Can you explain this to me?"

"It doesn't really matter. It's just a joke, Cas," I told him. "I'll explain it later."

"Oh. Okay." He smiled and laughed a little, but I didn't think he found it funny.

But he did. Oh boy, he did.

If I had only known what trouble this would cause. I accidentally got Cas into Rick Rolling.

A/N: So this was a fun one to write and a fun one to revisit! I'll admit, it's silly, and kinda cheesy too, but who doesn't love a cheesy fic now and then. I hope you liked it! I'm working on some more one shots to polish up and post.

For anyone who doesn't know, everything I have posted so far and plan to post right now are one shots I wrote a few years ago and the originals are available on my tumblr (pineapplegirl123). These, however, have been revamped a bit, to make them flow a bit better and bring them up to my current writing style. So yeah, there's a bit more to post but they will get better (and longer too!) ^-^
