"Okay, the car's all packed up. Ready to go?" Dean asked, looking right at me.
"Oh, yeah because I'm always the last one ready." I crossed my arms as Cas and Sam went out the door to the car.
"Name one time." Dean smirked, mirroring me by crossing his arms, too.
"Well there was that one time..." Crap. I couldn't think of anything!
"Uh huh. That's what I thought," he laughed. "Come on let's go."
I sighed. There was no use fighting him.
When outside, Dean, of course, got in the driver's seat and I went to get in the back where I usually sat behind him. However, upon opening the door, a bunch of boxes greeted me. They took up nearly the whole back seat. "Hey! What's all this stuff doing here? Where am I supposed to sit?"
Without turning around, Dean said, "Cas scoot over so Y/N can get in." I went around to the other side of the car and pulled open the door to get in next to Cas.
"There's no room," Cas stated.
I sighed again and looked up at the sky.
"Oh stop being so dramatic it's not the end of the world," Sam told me, a joking tone behind his words.
"How am I supposed to go with you guys if there's nowhere to sit in this stupid car!"
"I could strap you to the roof," Dean suggested, chuckling softly.
"Hahaha, you're so funny," I mocked.
"Well unless Cas lets you sit on top of him, you're out of luck. Now hurry up. I'd like to get there before next Tuesday."
"Look who's being dramatic now," I pointed out, crossing my arms.
Dean started to respond but Sam looked at him and he shut up. Man, what would I do without Sam?
I looked down at Cas. He hadn't said anything and I wanted to know what he thought. He met my eyes and shrugged. "Is it okay? I mean, like, it won't be weird?" I asked.
"No. It's okay," he said.
I got in slowly and sat on his lap, my body facing those stupid boxes. This would be an awkward ride for sure. Not that I didn't like Cas, he was a good friend. But I don't think I've ever been this close to him.
As soon as I settled in, Cas closed the door and Dean started the car, quickly speeding off down the road. Since the car didn't have seat belts I almost fell right off Cas' lap. He caught me and wrapped his arms around me.
I saw Dean look at us in the rear-view mirror. "Sorry." His tone of voice spoke for itself. He wasn't the least bit sorry.
"Why is the car packed up this much anyway?" I asked. "I didn't know we even had this much junk."
"It's not junk," Sam corrected. "We need all of this stuff for the case. We talked about it."
"You didn't tell me." I rolled my eyes.
Dean slammed on the brakes at a stop sign and I almost flew forward again. Cas tightened his grip on me.
"My bad," Dean apologized. If you would call it an apology.
"Cut it out, Dean," I said through gritted teeth.
"Yeah, Dean what the-" Sam started.
"Not now, Sammy," Dean interrupted his brother, giving him a look.
