"Ben!" I whispered fiercely through the bars of the last cell. "Ben! Are you in there!?"

I know I could of just blasted the bars off, but the fort few times I did that, I found some pretty sick stuff.

There was a dead old man in the first cell and what looked to be a little child in the next one.

There were these creatures in the next few, all clustered in one corner. They kept whimpering everyone I walked past.

This my last hope, and the last cell.

"Well, well, well! What do we have here?" said a very familiar voice.

I slowly stood up from my crouched position on the floor and turned around, holding my gun out in front of me, finger steady on the trigger.

"Cain." I was surprised by all the acid and hate in my tone and he was too, if only for a second.

"lilly, long time no see." he said, smirking at me.

I was appalled. At myself for ever liking this guy and his arrogant attitude and his predatory smirk and most definitely at his eyes. Right now, they weren't even normal, just black, every last bit of his eyes, including the whites and irises, we're black.

"what the hell are you?!" I demanded a little above a whisper.

"Well, I'm glad you asked. How about you ask my secretary, seeing as he is the one who brought you here."

He pointed to a silhouette in the shadows, just as my brain registered who it was.

"you?!" I still didn't know his name, the dark hair prisoner who had once saved my life.

Cain looked amused, "so you know finnegan?" He mused.

"It's Finn." Said Finn through clenched teeth. "I brought her here for you, so now will you let me go home?"

"Well." He said tapping his chin. "I need her knife first."

"What knife?" I asked.

"You know what knife, but enough about that, you came for Ben didn't you?"

"Yeah."

"Well he's not here."

"Wha-"

"He's not dead, don't worry, I got rid of him."

"Define got rid of him."

"I sent him home."

"Why?!"

He looked down at his watch, will you look at that, seems like it's time for me to go."

"Wha-"

I was blasted backwards. I looked up to see what knocked me off my feet, literally, there was a huge blue, doorway ?

It was no normal doorway either, it was large, shimmering, and looking through it, I didn't see the cell door it was in front of, but I saw a flat expanse of green, with a cloudless blue sky, and a beautiful aquamarine lake. In the distance I saw what seemed to be a college, with kids milling about, no one seemed to notice us.

"What is that." I said breathlessly.

"A portal to another universe." Said Cain smugly, crossing his arms and staring at it.

"Wait, what about me?" Said Finn moving forward.

"What about you?" Said Cain moving toward me.

I scooted back, until I hit a wall.

"Get away from me!" I hissed.

I couldn't get up, my ankle was twisted, and I winced in pain evertime i moved it.

"Oh don't mind me-" he said squatting down, until we were level.

"Don't touch her!" Snarled Finn, moving forward.

Cain didn't even look back, just flicked his wrist and a dagger went flying through the air, burying deep into finns shoulder.

He grunted, staggered, and fell to his knees.

I was dumb founded.

"Sorry about that, I don't usually resort to violence, but I needed this!" He said triumphantly, pulling out the Metallica.

"Hey give it back." I said, trying to stand up.

He chuckled, a low, dark chuckle, "don't worry, after today, I won't ever see you again."

"Stop." I clawed my way over to him as he stepped through the portal.

He turned and smiled at me, "adios !"

The portal started closing, I wouldn't be able to crawl there in time.

I heard a grunt from behind me, and turn to see Finn had got to his feet. He was leaning against the wall, clutching the knife hilt in his shoulder. He grunted again, pulling at the hilt. He dropped  his hands to his side, braced himself, and held his hand to the dagger again. I saw him suck in a breath, then a ear shattering scream filled the room as the dagger clattered across the floor, landing at my feet.

I stared at Finn as he staggered over to the portal and jumped in, knocking Cain to his feet. He grabbed the knife out of his hands and sunk it into his chest, twisting it again and again.

He got of him and walked over to the edge of the portal looking down at me.

"You betrayed me." I managed to croak out.

He didn't say anything, just carried on staring down at me.

"I'll get revenge-" I croaked, "- you betrayed me, now, give me back my dagger."

"It's a short sword-" he leaned down, "- and no."

The last thing I saw before the blackness swallowed me was Finns boot, coming towards my face.
