Denahi!
I winced at the sudden, relatively loud crackling of Clarke's voice directly into my ear. Whirling around, I silently backtracked several feet so I was no longer in the large hallway, and instead around a corner. It hardly concealed me, especially if there were to be guards coming this way, but I had to make do... with that thought, I slid a little farther down the wall so I wouldn't be so easily spotted...
Clarke, what's wrong?
My hand cupped the small, sleek black radio, in hopes to muffle his voice. It was quiet in the mansion. Too quiet. That is until a slight 'boom' echoed through the halls. One could have mistaken it for a gunshot in the distance....a really powerful one that managed to shake an entire freaking mansion!
The prisoners are free, I am delivering them to the chopper as we speak-
He was abruptly cut off as an even louder, more violent explosion sounded on my right. The wall I was propped up against shuddered under my fingertips. Intense concern laced itself into the deepest parts of my heart, coursing through my veins in a lighting rage.
Clarke!
Static greeted me.
I tried again, my voice lowered to a whisper-yell.
Clarke! Clarke, what happened?
His voice, crackling and out of breath, calmed my racing heart... only slightly.
I'm.....I'm okay, D, the chopper is compromised, I will get the others to safety.
I furrowed my brows. Compromised how? Where is it?
Well, from the trajectory of the sun and the moon, all over the side of the mansion, oh, and right under that tree, and...Oh! There's a piece of it rammed into that guard's face! Ugh....that has GOT to hurt.
Clarke, focus.
I am completely focused, D.
Where are the others? Did they make it out?
Silence ensued, a slight crackling of the radio thrumming in my ear as I waited, Hesitant to discover the fate of my unit.
They are all here, except Toni. Louie says his hack into the system was successful. The lights should be going out in about ten minutes. So you should hurry up. Edith got them out safely before the chopper exploded, and they are both fine. But... Denahi, you should be careful, apparently, someone was after you.
What?
Look, Umm... I don't really know the whole story, I uh... oh geez. what Edith!? Do you want to talk to Denahi? fine -
There was shuffling, a few whines of protest from Clarke in the background...then Edith's voice greeted me over the radio. She was terrified. I had never seen, nor heard her so flustered before.
He's coming, D. He blew up the chopper, he killed some of his own men! I don't know who he is... or... WHAT he is. But he told me that he was coming after you, dude. He even said your name. Is there anyone you know here? He didn't look familiar, but he knew you.
