Year 5
James Potter waved goodbye to his parents as he boarded The Hogwarts Express with his three best friends. They strutted down the walkway and finally arrived at the same compartment they had been sharing for years. They slid open the door but were surprised to not see their dark haired female friend. Shrugging it off, they sat down, leaving the window seat empty.
It was nearing the time that the train left and the boys were beginning to worry.
"Where is she?" James asked his friends, a worried look on his face, "What if she misses the train? How will I cope at Hogwarts without her?"
"You mean who are you going to gape at when you think no one is looking?" Remus piped in, putting his book down.
"Haha, very funny." James replied sarcastically.
The train started moving and still no sign of her. The boys just started to assume the worst when the door flew open to reveal a very messy and out of breath Scarlet.
"You're here!" James said happily, his eyes lighting up.
"Sorry I....took so long.." Scarlet panted, leaning on the door frame for support, "Lily made....me do a detailed.....explanation of my.....summer...when she finally....let me go I.....ran here as fast.....as I could."
She sat down and regained her breath.
"Hey Winters?" James asked, gaining her attention.
"What Potter?" Scarlet groaned, already knowing what he was going to say.
"Will you go out with me?"
Scarlet leaned back in her seat and groaned loudly.
"That wasn't a no." Sirius said to James.
"You're right." James laughed.
"When the wedding?" He teased, knowing it will anger Scarlet.
"I'm thinking maybe a Winter Wonderland Wedding, y'know?" James said, smiling.
Scarlet turned around in her seat and screamed, the seat muffling it.
"In your dreams, Potter." She said when she finally resurfaced.
"You're right, and those dreams are the best dreams." James flirted.
It had been like this ever since first year. The first night at Hogwarts, it was always 'Scarlet this' and 'Scarlet that'. I drove the boys insane so in the end they threw a pillow at his and told him to go to sleep.

The Start-Of-The-Year Banquet was quite boring as usual. Scarlet had heard Dumbledore's speech so many times now that sometimes she would turn to the boys and mouth the words in perfect sync with Dumbledore.
Scarlet was the first back to the dorm so she started unpacking while she waited for Lily, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and Alice to arrive so that they could start their 'First Night of the Year Activities'.
After about five minutes, the girls all burst through the door, carrying handfuls of sweets and goodies that they stole from the kitchens and/or their homes.
"It's time!" Lily squealed, throwing the sweets onto her bed and sitting cross-legged on it.
All the girls either sat on their beds or near the window, Scarlet chose to sit next to Lily.
"First order of business, hot boys in our year!" Marlene said, revealing a list and ticking off the first task which was 'Get Sweets from Kitchens.'
"Do we have any transfers?" Dorcas asked.
"No, I don't think so, no one our age was sorted." Scarlet replied.
"I know who's hot, -" Alice started.
"We know, Frank Longbottom." The girls chorused together, cutting Alice off.
"You've had a crush on him since second year." Mary told Alice.
"We should know, you rant about him to us almost four times a week." Lily said, rolling her eyes.
"You're almost as bad as James Potter about Scarlet here." Dorcas said, shooting Scarlet a wink.
"I'm pretty sure he's just joking around and doing it to get on my nerves." Scarlet groaned into a pillow.
"I'm so glad it isn't me in you position, I don't think I could handle Potter on my back 24/7." Lily said, rubbing Scarlet's back soothingly.
"Don't you guys think Sirius Black looked a bit hot at the feast today?" Marlene asked.
"If by 'hot' you mean 'looked like a pig because he was stuffing his face with chicken wings most of the time' then yeah! Sirius looked extremely hot tonight!" Scarlet replied sarcastically.
"Oh shut up, you!" Marlene laughed and threw a pillow at Scarlet, who laughed and threw it back.

The next morning, Scarlet awoke to Lily jumping up and down on her bed.
"Wake up! We can't be late for our first day of classes!" Lily shouted into her eyes.
Groaning Scarlet got out of bed and looked at Alice.
"I'm pretty sure she still on a sugar rush from last night." She groaned as she pick up her robes and walked into the bathroom to change.
10 minutes later, Scarlet came out dressed and with minty fresh breath. She picked up her hairbrush and lazily put it up into a messy bun while Lily zoomed into the bathroom to get changed too.
Lily came out just as Scarlet had finished her mascara, a little less hyper but still excited none the less.
"You look funky fresh, girl!" Lily said, winking at Scarlet, who still felt like death.
"Never say that again." She groaned in response.
"We'll meet you four in the common room!" Lily shouted at the girls and took Scarlet outside.
Once they got down the stairs and into the common room, Lily bounded off to watch two first years play wizards chess. Scarlet walked over to the Marauders who were lounging around on the sofas. She forcefully moved Remus' legs from the sofa and flopped down on it.
"Aren't you a ray of sunshine this morning?" Sirius teased.
"Shut up. You would be too if Lily Evans woke you up in the morning by screaming 'WE CAN'T BE LATE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES!' in you ear. We had 3 hours until classes started."
The boys all laughed as Scarlet glared playfully at each one in turn. Then, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and Alice came down and said that they were ready.
"That's my cue. See you at breakfast." Scarlet said as she waved goodbye and dragged Lily out of the common room, who was complaining loudly about how her favorite first year didn't win.
James sighed dreamily, watching Scarlet's retreating figure and decided that whatever he did, he would make Scarlet fall for him.
