That night, Lily, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and Alice all woke up to running and the bathroom light being switched on. Hesitantly, they got out of bed, shared worried glaces, and advanced towards the bathroom door. Lily slowly turned the knob and opened the door to see Scarlet crouched over the toilet bowl.

"Scarlet? Are you okay?" Marlene, who was right behind Lily, asked.

As an answer, Scarlet leaned even more forward and vomited once again. Lily stepped forward and placed a comforting hand on her back while Marlene held back her hair.

This continued for most of the night, until the girls decided it was best to take Scarlet up to Madam Pomfrey. They found a bucket and led her to the hospital wing as quietly as possible. Luckily, Madam Pomfrey was still awake when they came through the doors.

"Oh dear me!" The aged woman cried when she saw the puking girl.

"We don't know what happened, all of a sudden she suddenly started throwing up." Dorcas explained.

"It's okay dears, you go off to bed and get some rest for classes tomorrow, I'll take care of your friend." She said as she led Scarlet to a bed.

The girls nodded and went back to the common room, still worrying for their friend.

The next day, at lunch, the girls were sat on the Gryffindor table, feeling somber. The Marauders came up to them and looked around, obviously searching for something.

"Hey Evans! Do you know where Scarlet is?" James asked Lily.

"She's ill. Been vomiting all night and this morning. We took her to Madam Pomfrey at about 2 AM this morning." Lily explained but before she finished her sentence, James and the rest of the Marauders had zoomed off to the hospital wing.

By the time the Marauders had flung open the doors, Scarlet's vomiting had died down to 1 vomit every half an hour.

"Are you okay?" James asked as soon as he saw Scarlet lying on the bed, looking as white as a ghost.

"I'm...... fine." Scarlet managed.

"Do you have any idea what happened?" Sirius asked, jumping up so he could sit on her bed.

"I do." Madam Pomfrey interrupted, "It seems as though she's been poisoned. And a nasty poison at that. Do you have any idea who could have done this?"

Immediately, James gritted his teeth and Sirius clenched his fist.

"Malfoy." James spat out the word, "We have to tell Professor Dumbledore!"

"We don't have any eviden-" Scarlet was cut off when she suddenly picked up her bucket and vomited in it again. In a flash, James was there, soothing her.

"Ooooh, looking hot there, Scarlet." Sirius teased.

"I swear to God Sirius Black if you don't shut up now, I won't hesitate to drown you in my vomit." Scarlet threatened after she had finished.

"Point taken." Sirius held up his hands in a mock surrender.

Thankfully, a second-year girl confessed that she had witnessed Lucius put the vomiting poison in Scarlet's drink at the evening meal. They told Professor Dumbledore and he was taking care of it. Scarlet was finally discharged at the end of the day after she had gone 2 hours without throwing up, just in time for the evening meal. Excitedly, she ran down the moving staircases and into the Grand Hall and sat in between Lily and James.

"I'm here, you're night just got ten times better!" Scarlet joked as she sat down.

"More like ten times worse." Sirius muttered as he shoved a chicken wing in his mouth. Scarlet playfully glared at him.

"How are you feeling?" Alice asked from across the table.

"Much better, thanks! Oh and I'm sorry that you had to stay up and miss your sleep because of me." Scarlet apologized.

"No worries, at least you're okay!" Mary flashed her a smile, which she gratefully returned.

Scarlet was about to take a sip of her pumpkin juice when James snatched it out of her hands.

"Nope, no poison." He confirmed as he handed it back to her.

Mid-sip, Scarlet made eye contact with Lucius Malfoy, who was laughing along with his lackeys.

"What is he doing here?" Scarlet growled as she slammed the cup down.

"I know, he didn't even get a detention!" Remus said.

Scarlet was squeezing her glass cup with so much force that it shattered in her hands.

"Um...Scarlet..." Alice started.

"Don't bother, she probably can't hear you." Marlene reminded Alice.

At that moment, Lucius smirked at Scarlet, which angered her even more.

"That's it." She seethed and stood up and stormed out of the hall.

"Should we go after her?" Sirius asked the girls.

"Nah, let her cool off for a while." Lily advised.

"Yeah, one time, we made the mistake of trying to talk to her when she was in a mood." Dorcas mentioned.

"What happened?" Peter squeaked.

"Well we kinda got yelled and and made the situation worse." Mary explained, laughing.

The boys nodded and went back to their meal, but a certain Marauder couldn't get his mind off of the green eyed girl.

"James? You alright?" Sirius asked his best friend, concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine." James replied bluntly, going back to poking at his food.

"Bet you he's thinking about Scarlet." Remus teased.

"I am not!" James defended.

"Oh yeah? Then what are you thinking about?" Sirius challenged, raising his eyebrow.

"Uhh.....Quiddich." James said hesitantly.

"Hah! You hesitated!" Remus laughed.

"Oh shut up! It's not like you don't daydream about Evans!" James retorted, knowing that it would make the honey haired boy flustered.

"Not so loud!" he hissed, "she's only over there!"

All of the Marauders laughed and agreed to go check up on their female friend after dinner and see how she was. This was enough to put James' mind at rest.
