That Thursday, Scarlet was walking happily to Herbology. It was the last lesson of the day and Scarlet was more than happy that her final lesson was one of the ones she excelled in. On her way there, she couldn't help but notice a small first year Hufflepuff, constantly looking down to his timetable and looking around confused. Figuring he must be lost, Scarlet approached him.
"Hey there! I'm Scarlet. I couldn't help but notice that you look quite lost. What classroom are you trying to find?" She asked kindly with a smile, crouching down to match the young boy's height.
"Oh! Umm, Divination." He replied sheepishly, scratch the back of his neck.
"Oh yeah, that's quite a hidden classroom. It's in the North Tower, up the stairs and through the circular trapdoor, you'll know if you're in the right place if you end up in a room that looks like a mixture of someone's attic and an old-fashioned teashop. Do you want me to take you there?" She said.
"Won't your teacher give you a detention of you're late?" He asked.
"Don't worry, I'm a prefect - it's my job. She'll understand. I'll also tell your divination teacher why you're late when we get there, too!" She said, standing up and taking the eleven-year-old by the hand, unaware of the gazes of a certain Potter who was utterly love-struck.
After 5 minutes, they finally arrived that the Divination classroom. Scarlet told they first year (who she found out was called Daniel) and explained to the teacher that Daniel simply got lost. The professor thanked her and dismissed her, telling her to 'run along to your own lesson now, Dear.'.
Scarlet turned up to Herbology 15 minutes late and was quick to tell Professor Sprout why. She understood and told Scarlet to go sit in her seat, which was next to Lily.
"What'd I miss?" She asked as she sat down.
"Not much, just Sprout explaining O.W.L.S." Lily sighed, tapping her quill against the desk.
"Good, don't want to miss anything too important." Scarlet giggled and took out her parchment, ink bottles and her quill.
Two hours later and classes were finished for the day. When Scarlet was leaving with Lily to go meet the rest of the girls in the common room, Potter called out to her.
"Hey, Scarlet! The Winter holidays are approaching, wanna spend it at mine? Sirius will be there too." He asked, leaning again the greenhouse.
"I'll pass, thanks." She politely refused, smiling, "I haven't had as much communication with my parents this year, I'd rather spend it with them, y'know?"
James nodded his head understandingly, "Whatever you say, just remember, if you change your mind, my offer will always stand." He said, winking at her.
"Yeah, okay." She dismissed him and turned around walking with Lily again while rolling her eyes.

It was the final week before the winter holidays. And for some reason, that terrified Scarlet. It meant that O.W.L.S were getting closer and she would have to prepare herself for late night revision sessions in the Library.
The week seemed to pass relatively quickly and soon enough, it was Friday. They would be leaving tomorrow. All the girls in her dorm were going to be going home for the holidays so at least Scarlet had the comfort of knowing that no one would spend Christmas alone.
Scarlet had just finished packing up her trunk (with the exceptions of the things she would need that night) and joined the other girls who were sitting on their beds, eating sweets and discussing the year so far.
"The Marauders surprising haven't pulled as many pranks this year." Marlene pondered.
"Oh give it time, I'm sure they're cooking up some huge prank for the start of term." Scarlet said, sitting next to Lily and taking a Pumpkin Pasty.
There was a small pause as everyone bit into their sweets.
"Remember to try and buy some Muggle sweets over the holidays, Scarlet, I'm eager to try some." Alice reminded Scarlet.
"Of course! I'll show you the amazing world of Dairy Milk chocolate." Scarlet said, laughing.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure the house elf's are starting to get fed up with us always stealing their sweets." Mary grinned.
"Don't be silly, they love helping us, they even bake fresh cookies, just for us." Dorcas counteracted.
Suddenly, Lily let out a huge yawn.
"I'm really tired, you guys, I'll see you in the morning?" She said, already starting to get under the duvet.
"Yeah, goodnight everyone." Scarlet yawned, walking to her bed and getting in.
Dorcas was closest to the light so she turned it off and everyone drifted off to a dreamless sleep.

Scarlet gave Remus one final hug.
"Have a great Christmas!" She smiled, waving at him.
"You too!" He said, clambering into a carriage with Peter.
Scarlet turned to Sirius.
"Try not to have too much fun without me!" Scarlet hugged him, smiling.
"You know it!" He winked. Scarlet giggled and pushed him onto the carriage.
James up next. He winked at her and smirked.
"See you after Christmas, Doll-face?" He flirted.
Scarlet rolled her eyes and eventually pulled him into a hug.
"See you soon." She said as she watched him settle down in the carriage with the rest of the Marauders
He smiled and mock-saluted. She giggled to herself and mock-saluted back as she watched the carriage start moving and the boys disappear into the distance.
Sighing, she turned around, grabbed her truck and hoisted herself onto her own carriage with Lily, Marlene, Dorcas, Alice and Mary.
"You girls ready?" Dorcas asked.
They all nodded and soon the carriage started travelling towards the train.

Scarlet gave Lily one final hug.
"I'l miss you, Scar." Lily sighed.
"Oh, yeah! Here's your present!" Scarlet suddenly remembered, digging around in her truck and producing an expertly wrapped red and green present with a ribbon, "Don't open it until Christmas, I already gave the other girls theirs."
Lily smiled and took the present, "Same to you with your present."
"I wouldn't dream of it." Scarlet smiled.
"See you soon, Scar."
"Bye, Lils."
Scarlet watched Lily's retreating figure and stepped outside of Platform 9 3/4. She went out of the doors of Kings Cross Station and called a taxi to take her to her house, where her Muggle parents would be waiting for her. The taxi pulled up and she got in, telling the driver where to go. Soon, he was off, and Scarlet couldn't help but look out of the window and day-dream about her friends.
