Liam's POV
"Liam" she mumbled, her eyebrows scrunching together. One of her eyes pop open, it locking with mine. The other one is soon to follow, she staring at me with widened eyes.
"Hey" I sigh, placing a hand on her knee but she slowly pushes it off, "Not my mate remember" she grumbled, anger coursing through me.
"I just saved your life!"
"Thanks for that but I never agreed to us being ma-" I place a hand over her mouth, shooting her a glare.
"Listen here, stop denying what we- Don't bloody bite me!?" I retract my hand, seeing the same bite marks but well, they were slightly bleeding now. She shrugged, pushing herself up to her elbows and a groan coming from her mouth. Her eyes suddenly widen and her movements becomes ten times faster. I watch as her brain starts putting all the pieces together, the way she jumps up from the ground, moving her body around and inspecting the spots where those monsters had bit her.
"Liam?" her eyes fall onto me once more, worry edged in her features.
"Yeah"
"Why... why..." her hands move towards her neck, me cringing as she draws back blood.
"Don't worry about it" I lied, my mind spinning over how I was going to tell this girl that I had effectively given her paws.
She nods slowly, and then she does something that I KNOW would make her anger boil over. Her hands move towards her ears and well, just like young pups, the shifting process is about the same as big wolves. And Hayley has gained a nice pair of ears. White as snow and quite big but ears none the less.
"What did you do!? Why do I have ears!?" she snaps, her hands not stopping one second from inspecting the things. It was honestly very cute.
"You've always had ears Hailstorm" I sigh, my response only irritating me more.
"You're about to not have any after I rip them off! Why do I have WOLF ears!? Why am I healed? Why is my neck bleeding!?" her hands are forming fists, her mouth in a thin line.
"Think you already know the answer to that" I said, jumping up from the ground.
"No I don't" she said, her nose effectively twitching.
"Seems like you do" I smile, tapping her nose. She's quick to swat my hands away.
"Did you bloody turn me into a wolf!?" she growls. I don't even finish my nodding when I am shoved, the impact surprising. She's hitting me repeatedly now, her tiny fists thumping against my chest while her legs are kicking my shins.
"You need to calm down"
"Calm down!? Calm down!? Liam – I'm going to have a bloody snout because of you!? I am not going to calm down you freaking asshole"
I groan, wrapping my arms around her torso and pulling her close to me and off of the ground. She tries to push away but it's no use. She's stuck. The ears on top of her head finally straighten out, her anger fading.
I place her back into the ground, she quickly to shove away from me.
"And you think I'm going to be your "mate" after this" This time, I'm the one whose hands form fists. She sees the reaction thought there's a flicker of sadness in her eyes. It quickly disappears as the ears disappear from her head and a tail shoots out.
"O my goodness!"
I chuckle, watching her reaction. Widened eyes, mouth gaping. Adorable.
"I am going to kill you!" she snaps but all I do is chuckle at her responses, shaking my head.
"Who's going to save you then?" I wink.
Her mouth opens, probably with another insult but then we hear the voices and soon enough, Chris and Kira makes their appearance.
"O thank goodness you guys are alright" Kira sighs, moving towards her friend. She wraps her in a hug before noticing the tail.
"What the-"
"We're killing Liam later" Hayley says, shooting me another glare.
"You turned her?" Chris places a hand on my bicep, his eyes wide.
"She was going to die, I didn't have a choice" I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck, "At least my pup will still have a mom now"
Chris nods, "How'd she react?" he smirks, turning away from Kira and my mate.
"Plotting my death" I chuckle.
"You two will make wonderful mates" he laughs.
"We're not mates!" her voice comes but she doesn't say anything else, wrapped up in her own conversation once more.
"She's still denying it?" Chris' voice is lower, his eyebrows furrowing. I give him a nod, him just patting me on the back.
"It'll get better. I mean, you at least wouldn't be breaking up a relationship" he says, guilt in those words.
"That's not your fault. It's the mate bond remember?"
Chris nods, chewing on his lip, "Besides from coming to save your asses – if it was needed – I kind of have bad news"
"What?"
"I really don't want to make matters worse but Alpha Cody wants to speak to you"
