Seconds felt like hours, hours felt like days, days felt like weeks, and weeks felt like months for Viola. Sitting by the bed that held a quite, pale Todd.  Todd Hewitt. The boy-now "man"-she fell in love with.

Everyday as the last. Shower, brush teeth, eat lunch, read Todd his mother's journal, sing to him, get the nurse to check his vitals, kiss his forehead, eat dinner, go to sleep, and repeat.

"Hey Todd. It's been five weeks since you went to sleep. I miss you. Everyone misses you. Wake up. Wake up and we can go back to Old Pressington. Please wake up. We need you here- I need you here. I can't take it anymore," Viola whisper yells to Todd as she gets up, "Day after day and night after night. I think about what will happen if you die. Sometimes I even have nightmares where you'd die my arms and I can't do anything. Poor Ben tries to help me by telling me your childhood stories, and I tell him it helps. But it doesn't. It only makes me feel worse!"

She collapses to the floor crying.

"I need you. I need you to wake up and show me how to be brave. I've taken care of you. I need you to take care of me now. Please. Wake up,"  she sobs before leaning her head back kn the wall and crying herself to sleep.
