The Beginning (chaos walking)

2) Awake

Viola's point of view

As the next few days had past, nothing changed Todd was still asleep. I was still on the edge of breaking down. But today is different. Today, I woke up to the sound of his noise.

It was quite and almost inaudible. But I heard it. It was calling out my name, "Viola? Viola where are you."

The nurse said I was crazy, just imagining it because it's what I wanted to hear. But I know I heard it. I know I did.

As the evening draws closer the louder I can hear his noise. And the more I wanna get the nurse to prove her wrong. But, I wanna stay here with Todd. There's this feeling in me that I have to be here.

Thats when I hear it. A yell in my ears; His noise.
Screaming, "Viola. Viola I'm coming to you. Viola!"

He's waking up!

As I'm about to get up to get the nurse- and prove her wrong- his eyes slowly open.

"V-Viola," he mumbles out

"I'm here Todd. I'm here," I exclaim grabbing his hand

"The war. It's over,"

"Yes Todd. But we are just beginning," I smile at him and I hear his noise loud and clear

VIOLA. BEAUTIFUL, BRAVE, BRILLIANT. VIOLA.

"Here let he get you some water," I say filling up a cup

He tries to sit up but fails. He looks at me with pleading eyes. Stupid muscles. Might as well be noodles.

I couldn't help but laugh at that Before placing my hands under his arms and helping him sit.

He winces and leans back against the wall.
Ouch! Effen wounds

"Do you want me to get the nurse," I ask touching his cheek and handing him the water.

He nods his head slowly and smiles at me. I help him hold the water cup till he finishes.

"Okay then. I'll be right back," I say and get up to leave

"Thank you," he whispers

"Of course," I say as I exit the door.

I was like down the dimly lit hallway to the dining hall.

"He's awake," I smile to Ben

Ben looks up at me in tears
Todd. Awake. Oh how long it's been

"He's in a little bit of pain though, I need to find the nurse," I say turning to head to the nurse's corridor

Poor child should be with Todd.
"I'll get the nurse. You go back to Todd," Ben says smiling

"Oh- thank you," I say and run back to Todd's room.

Before I open the door I hear him scolding himself.

Stupid boy. Dumbass. If you would of listened for once then non of this would've happened. I should've run with her. I shouldn't have trusted that stupid man. Mayor Prentiss. That effin man hurt her. I hurt her.

And just like that his noise because quiet With guilt.

I deserve to die. I treated her like shit

With that I burst through the door.

"Don't you Ever say that again," I whisper yell at him.

"It's true. You'd be better off if I-,"

"You saved me. More than once. So just shut the hell up," I say and place my hands on his cheeks.

"But I also-,"

I cut him off, placing my lips to his.
Beautiful, lovely, wonderful.

"Am I interrupting something," I hear from the door way. Tod jerks away, and winces.

"Ben, you effen scared me," Todd mumbles before placing his hand on his chest.

"It's glad to hear you speak again boy," Ben says shaking his hand.

I miss Cillian.

"I do too boy. I do too," Ben says as the nurse walks in with the supplies.

"I'm gonna need you to lay down," she says and Todd looks at me to help him. As I lay him down, the nurse pulls his shirt up revealing a lot of bandages.

Cutting them, she reveals a wound about the size of my fist in the middle of Todd's chest.

His eyes widen at the sight of it

Holy shit. No wonder I was asleep.

The nurse puts a healing pad on it causing Todd to wince and hold his breath

Jeez woman. Careful

I laugh at his noise causing the nurse to glare at me.

She puts some drops on the pad before rewrapping his chest- with the help of Ben.

Finally everything is normal.
