Soon, they all reached the parade and Bill went straight to the alley, where some 'missing people' papers were on the wall.
Beverly followed Bill to the alley where the 'missing people' papers were. She saw Betty Ripsom and Eddie Corcoran’s missing papers. "You don’t think...”
"That they're trying to c-cover up Betty's disappearance or that he was taken by whatever t-took the other kids...?" Bill sort of asked.
“It’s both, Bill. Everyone started forgetting about Betty when Eddie Corcoran went missing. It’s like the adults don’t see anything.” Beverly looked at the wall to see if there were more missing kids papers hanging up.
"Yeah. They need to focus on all c-cases and pay more attention. Or there'll be more like them..." Bill said, looking away. Then back at the papers.
“Yeah, I hope they’re still alive and healthy.” Beverly said, looking down.
"Me t-too..." Bill looked over at Eddie.
"You can go get your ice cream now.""I'll go with you, Eddie. With all this shit going on, no one should go anywhere alone." Joan said.
“Joan, bring me back an ice cream.” Beverly went into her pocket and grabbed some money. She gave the money to Joan. “Here’s the money.”
Joan nodded and turned to Bill. "You want anything?"
Bill looked at Joan as she asked her question. "Uh, yeah. A r-regular vanilla, I guess."
Joan nodded and walked to and inside of the shop with Eddie, avoiding the gaze of the female school bullies.
Joan went up to the counter and ordered the ice creams.
Joan walked out of the shop with Eddie, holding the ice creams for Beverly and Bill.
Bill continued looking at the 'missing kids' papers, waiting for Joan and Eddie.
Beverly was looking at the ‘missing kids’ posters, trying to see if there were any connections between them.
Joan walked to her other friends. "We're back!"
"Finally." Bill joked before grabbing his ice cream from Joan. "We've been l-looking at the papers. Trying to figure things out."
Joan looked over at the missing kids posters. "Maybe we can try the library?"
“Yeah, there could be books or newspapers about this.” Beverly said as she grabbed her ice cream.
Joan went and leaned against the wall. "Maybe we can split into teams. Two go to the library and two go look for Georgie."
Joan climbed onto her bike. "I'm gonna go ahead to the library. I'll catch up with you guys later."
Bill nodded his head as Joan rode off and turned back to his friends. "W-who else is going with her?"
Beverly thought for a moment, then volunteered. "I will." She then walked to her bike and got on, soon pedaling towards the library.
Bill and Eddie got back onto their bikes once they finished their cones, then headed off towards the sewers.
Beverly and Joan
When Joan was approaching the library, she spotted the Bowers gang loitering around. She thought about turning around and going back to her friends, but worked up the bravery to pedal past them. Once Joan reached the library, she parked her bike and went inside.
Once Joan got inside, she started looking around for old newpapers. She then grabbed one that caught her eye.
Beverly soon arrived at the library and saw Joan, so walked up to her.
