You trailed behind your father as he entered what he called The Batcave. Your father had told you many stories of the place and all the things your family did for the city of Gotham, although you had never engaged in the lifestyle as a vigilante.
Upon entering the cave you noticed a boy who looked around your age lurking around by one of the top railings above you and your dad. "Grayson," he crossed his arms and leaned over the railing a bit, "your late."
"Nice to see you too, Dami." Your father smiled at the boy as flipped off the top and landed gracefully on the ground in front of the two of you.
"Now, where's our dad at?" your father put his hands on his hips and looked around, smiling slightly.
"Father is up in his study, working as usual." The boy's eyebrows knitted once he turned to you, "Who's this?"
"Damian, I've told you about my (son/daughter)," your father gestured to you, "this is (Y/n)." You waved to Damian and smiled. "Now, (N/n)," your dad faced you, "I have to go talk to your grandfather for a while. Don't do anything I would do."
He ruffled your hair, "I'll be back soon," and with that, he walked away.
"And by soon, does he mean a couple of hours?" You asked the boy, turning toward him.
He sighed, "Probably, Grayson has always let time consume him." You raised an eyebrow at the boy.
"Well," you stretched your arms, extending them upward before letting them slump by your sides, "What is it you Bats do around here?"
"We train," he said sternly, green/blue eyes locking with yours.
"Thank you, Captain Obvious," You laughed a little, pacing around before looking back at him, "Let's do something fun." He raised an eyebrow, giving you a questioning look. "Oh my gosh," You exclaimed, "that's it, we're going out for ice cream."
~Time Skip~
It took a while to convince him, but it was worth it. Now the two of you were on top of a building slowly eating the deserts you had got from the ice cream shop across the street.
"You see, Grayson," Damian spoke, catching your attention by saying your last name, and making you look at him, "I'm a vegetarian and I usually don't enjoy delicacies such as this one."
"Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it," you smiled looking away blushing. A heavy silence overtook the two of you, the only noises coming from the city.
"Your father spoke of you," Damian stated, a hint of uncertainty in his voice, "but I always imagined you--"
"Younger," you cut him off, "I get that a lot." You noticed his silence and you knew he had questions about you, so you sighed, looking down at your ice cream, and began to explain, "As you know, my father is your brother, a human, but my mother is half demon and well, that came with its own consequences."
You let out a small chuckle, kicking the gravel below your feet, and looked up at the Robin. He stared at you his face emotionless as he thought over what you said. It seemed as if the two of you were having a stare off until he broke the silence, "You age faster than you should be."
"Bingo." You chirped, sitting down on the tiny rocks underneath your feet. You held your ice cream in one hand and lifted your other one up in front of your face before opening it, a small, dark purple cloud formed in the middle of your palm, "I'm getting better at controlling it, and my mother said that my aging is starting to slow down, which is a good thing, but I've missed a lot of years of my life."
You clenched your fist and reopened it, the small mist gone. You both finished up your ice cream and just stood on the rooftop, overlooking the city. That's when you started to notice Damian's quiet/calm behavior, and quite frankly you found it interesting.
"You don't talk much do you?" You looked over to where he stood beside you.
He shrugged his shoulders a bit, "I do talk, but only when I feel the need to." He paused for a second, smirking, before adding, "Or when I feel the need to annoy any of my brothers."
"You know what I see?" you smiled at Damian. He hummed as your cue to continue, "A start of a beautiful friendship."
He nodded slowly, looking out into the void of Gotham City.
