Lily woke up with a start, panting hard.
The dream was still vivid behind her eyes and the flash of green light was so bright and her parents faces were so clear.
Deciding that sleep would not come she got up and made her way down to the owlery and sent a letter to her parents.
She watched the small tawney owl fly over the whomping willow with the letter until was out of sight before turning around and making her way down the stone steps.
"Morning, Evans!" Said a cherry voice from behind her.
Lily jumped and almost fell down the step in suprise. Then frowned when she saw who it was.
"Sod off, Potter." She muttered.
James continued grinning, stupidly.
"Hey Evans, it's Hogsmeade this Saturday-"
"I am perfectly aware what is going on this weekend, Potter, I can read the noticeboard for myself and I DON'T need you to inform me."
James' grin failed to leave his face.
Lily decided it was best to ignore him and continued down the stone steps.
James followed her.
"We can go to Honeydukes, do you like Honeydukes? Or Zonko's. Have you been there, or if you wanted, we could go to the-"
"Potter! For the last time! I'm not coming with you to Hogsmeade!" Lily cried, exasperated.
James frowned.
"But-" he began, clearly confused. "But everyone wants to go to Hogsmeade with me."
"No. Not me, Potter."
"Okay, okay, I have an idea, if you go to Hogsmeade with me then I will never ask you to go out with me ever again."
"Liar."
James ran his fingers through his hair continuing to think of any means of bribing Evans to go out with him as she hurried swiftly back to the castle as he ran along beside her, the wind whipping at his face.
"Alright, I have a better idea, Evans, if you kiss me, I will never bother you or your friends ever again."
Lily laughed hesitantly then turned round and faced him.
"If you think for one second," she said "that I would kiss you then you are thoroughly mistaken, you arrogant little t-"
"Evans?"
Lily swing round to see Sirius standing there, a lopsided grin etched on his face and his floppy dark curls blowing gently into his grey eyes by the wind.
"Have you agreed to marry Prongs yet, Evans?" Sirius asked, his grin widening.
Lily opened her mouth to speak but thought better if it, swung on her heel and turned back towards the castle.
"Tough luck, mate." Sirius said, patting his arm fondly.
"Wanna go down to the kitchens?"James shook his head glumly.
"Thanks, Pad, but I have detention with McGonagall, remember?"Sirius groaned.
"I'll see you in the common room then."So Sirius wandered off and James was left alone.
He stared longingly at the Quidditch pitch.
"Accio Nimbus" he muttered, and moments later, his Nimbus 1500 came speeding towards him. He smiled and ran his fingers over the sleek gleaming handle where Nimbus 1500 was engraved in gold fancy lettering. He sighed, mounted his broom and kicked off, soaring high into the sky, feeling the wind push against his ears deafening him of all sense of reality as he soared higher across the grounds.
