Ebony entered the halls of her school once more. A new day. A fresh start. She wondered what was going to happen that day. Was she going to meet John again? Was she going to make new friends? Was she going to meet Alex again? Her creative writing class was about to starry in five minutes, thankfully she had memorised the school map by now, after studying it for three seconds. She passed dozens of people, all who stared at her as she passed by, most whispering to their friends as soon as she had passed by them. Once again, she ignored them. They were nothing but a random fly that buzzed in front of her occasionally — she had no feelings about them. They were just some more people on earth.

She stopped when someone suddenly blocked her path. She looked up, it was John. He was frowning at her, an eyebrow raised up.

"Morning," Ebony gave a smile and pushed past him.
"Hey! Come back! I need to talk to you!" John began to run after her to catch up with her.
"What is it?" Ebony stopped for a moment and looked at him, her pale eyes staring deep into his brown ones.
"We decided to meet for lunch yesterday, you never showed up."
"I forgot, I'm sorry."
"Why- why do you speak and look like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like you're angry... or- or emotionless."
"Perhaps because I have a class to attend to and you're blocking my way," with that, Ebony marched off to her class.

John sighed, he had hoped to befriend the pretty girl. He shook his head, and tried to fight off his feelings, but inside, deep down, he had hoped she liked him. Was he falling for her? John brushed off he thought and went off to his own class.

Ebony put her books down and sat down next to blonde girl with a fair complexion. The girl had shining green eyes and rather tanned skin. The earrings and bracelets she wore resembled how rich she was, and how spoiled, too.

"I'm Cassandra," the girl was admiring her white nails with diamonds on them. "And you're stealing my boyfriend."

Ebony was unshaken. "I'm sorry?"

"John. He's my boyfriend. Don't ever talk to him again."
"Well you can tell him to never talk to me again."
"But you're the one talking to him."
"He spoke to me first."
"Well don't reply."
"Try me."

Then, right on time, their teacher entered he classroom, and the class fell silent. Cassandra only had time to shoot one deadly glare at Ebony, who, having no feelings or fear, merely glared back.

The class began as usual. All through the class, Cassandra was whispering and skipping notes at Ebony, each taunting and threatening her. Ebony didn't care. Not even a little bit. She barely even felt the anger that any normal person would. She was empty inside, her heart and brain artificial ones. Cassandra was nothing. She'd never be able to bother Ebony. That is, unless Ebony develops feelings.
