Chapter 10

-15 minutes before at Emy's apartment-

"What's the difference if you put the coffee table 3 inches uneven?" Bellona asked.

"The difference is that when someone sits they either have too much table or too little. Now shut your mouth and move it to the left." Emy was on the floor with a yardstick measuring the distance between the table and the couches while Bellona moved it.

"There its perfect," Emy and Bellona stepped back to admire their work.

"It's missing something," Nightshade sat on a stool next to Toxic.

"Agreed," Toxic said.

"We need flowers," Bellona nodded.

"We need flower arrangements. Good thing I bought some flowers beforehand there in my bedroom. Nightshade is a dear and brings them to me."

"Ok," Nightshade jumps down and walk to the bedroom.

"So, are you going to fix it now or later?" Toxic pointed at the container with the broken plate.

"Right give me a second for that," Emy grabbed the pieces and put them together. Then with a piece from the middle, she cut herself on the palm for her hand letting drops of blood drip on to the broken pieces. Emy placed the piece back where it belongs and put her hands together and prayed out loud."Lono and Pele hear my prayer fix this broken relic that was created by your firm believer to the last moment of his life. Preserve his memory along with his word. Please, I pray."

When she opened her eyes, the broken piece was being put back together with a light in the cracks and the blood had disappeared and the wound in her palm had healed. "Thank you, Lono and Pele. I am grateful for your help my gods."

Emy put the plate where it was in the cupboard. "I forgot you did that," Bellona said watching her.

"Do what?" She asked.

"That you pray about us to our gods," Bellona answered.

"It's only right for me to do that." The doorbell rang before any awkward moment rise, Emy opened it to another neighbor holding a puppy. "Mr. Slovaks how can I help you?"

"Hello Emy, my pup here is a little sick I wanted to get him some fresh air up on the roof, well as fresh as the air in Gotham can get."

"Oh, of course. Here you go I hope your pup feels better," Emy gave him the key and closed the door.

"Bummer," Bellona said.

"What? That the puppy is sick?"

"No," Bellona said and Emy waited for her to explain. "Bummer he isn't hot like the other neighbor."

Emy scoff, "Fox."

Nightshade came back with flowers and toxic behind him carrying nothing. "I lost paper, scissors, rock," was all Nightshade said pouting.

"It's okay you guys can lay down on the couches, we'll do the flower arrangements." Emy comforts him.

"Art isn't my thing," Bellona said.

"And you tell me this because....?"

"Fine," Bellona huffed and started to decorate a vase.

Bellona and Emy where making flower arrangements and Toxic and Nightshade were lying on the new couch when Emy froze.
