soulmate au where when you turn 15 with your soulmate's name on your right wrist and your nemesis' name on the left. you have the same name on both. (i made up the age cuz i didn't want it to be from when you were born but the prompt isnt mine!)

When the name appeared on your wrists the morning of your 15th birthday it wasn't what you expected. You didn't really know what to expect exactly, but still, this was absurd. It was the same name on both wrists written in a delicate, minimalist font. Lauren.

You told yourself over and over again that there are multiple Lauren's in the world. Lauren is a common name, the girl walking down the street outside, the one sitting in the booth behind yours, the girl who just dropped her pencil, they could all be named Lauren. But they weren't. You knew better. And even if they were, what was the possibility that they'd have your name on their right wrist? After a while (if a while means about two years) you learned to live with it. You learned to just accept that you had no idea what the two names meant. If they were the same person or not, you wouldn't know until you did. And one day, you did.

You walked into your first class, rolling your eyes when you noticed the professor was late. You noticed a girl was sitting in your usual spot. You didn't know if you had seen her before or not, but you just shook your head and sat a seat away from her, too tired to say anything about a stupid seat. You pulled out your notebook, a semi-loud yawn escaping your mouth when you set it on the desk. The sound got the seat thief's attention, her eyebrow raising in question. You furrowed your own eyebrows at her before quickly looking away. What's her deal? Take my seat and then look at me as if it's weird to yawn at 9 in the morning? We're in college. The only thing people are is sleepy.

You turned your head to the door when you heard it open slowly. The professor walked in, uttering a low "Morning, class."

Some students returned the greeting, the tone of each one varying. You rubbed your eyes, as you pulled out a pencil. Suddenly there was movement next to you, and the seat thief was in the seat you had purposely skipped between the two of you.

"Hey?" She murmured.

You hummed in question.

"You got a pencil I can borrow? Or a pen?" You just nodded, pulling out a second pencil and handing it to her.

You noticed that she didn't move back to her seat, instead staying seated in the chair next to yours. You rolled your eyes, the lack of sleep making you irritated about everything. The professor continued on his lecture, your notes becoming more and more illegible the faster he spoke. The seat thief huffed and stopped writing, pulling the sleeves of her hoodie up to her elbows. You thought she would keep writing but instead she sat back, her arms resting on the table as she played. with the pencil. You glanced at her, your pencil slowly coming to a stop when you read the name on her wrist. You looked at her, shocked, your heart suddenly beating out of your chest.

She raised an eyebrow at you, crossing her arms, "What?"

You shook your head, clearing your thoughts before speaking, "Uh. W-what's your name?"

She gave you a look before muttering, "Lauren."

Your breathing stopped for a second, your heart beat being the only thing you could hear.

"Why?" She asked nonchalantly.

Your eyes widened as you pulled up your own sleeves, revealing the name on both your wrists. She almost jumped out of her chair, her eyes widening before she took your notebook, looking at the front. She looked back from your name printed on her wrists and the one on your notebook.

"So which one are you?"

"What?" You asked in confusion.

"Which one are you? The soulmate or the nemesis?" She said in a calm tone.

"Wh- I thought they were the same. Or-or could be the same," You stated, panic quickly taking over you.

"It could. But it also... couldn't be," She shrugged. "Let's just try and figure it out. Alright with you, sweetheart?" She then turned back towards the front of the class, her arms crossing over her chest again.

You nodded, your mouth slightly agape due to the fact that she was so calm. You didn't know how to react. You were sitting next to the love of your life. Or your enemy. Or both. And she just called me sweetheart?!

You cleared your throat. You turned back towards the professor but couldn't bring yourself to write or even pay attention. Your mind was still racing, your eyes intently focused on the end of your pencil. Before you knew it the class was over, and seat thief was getting up to collect her things.

"H-hey, wait!" You semi-shouted, reaching for her arm but not fast enough.

She turned around to face you, her eyebrow arching in question.

You stared for a but before speaking. "Figure this out how?"

Her eyebrow scrunched in thought and she pursed her lips, "Uh, I don't know, sweets. Why don't you throw out an idea?"

She gestured towards you, then you then realized you were still sitting, and that you two were the only two left in class. You stood and looked at her blankly while rubbing your hands on your thighs. She sighed, putting her backpack over her shoulder and crossing her arms. She then just stared at you.

"C'mon, get your stuff."

"R-right. Right," You murmured, nodding and putting your stuff in your own backpack. She then started walking towards the door, motioning for you to follow her.

"You got anymore classes, sweetheart?"

"You know, I have a name," You retorted.

"Hmm, yeah I'm aware. It's on my wrist." She gave a cocky smile, raising her hand lightly.

You rolled your eyes. "No, I don't have anymore classes today, sweets."

She laughed at how you mocked her. "Great, then let's get to know each other. Hmm?"

She turned into the small coffee shop that was in the building, looking back to make sure you were following. She took a seat at a corner booth, placing her stuff down before looking back up at you. You sighed and walked into the coffee shop, something in your head telling you this wouldn't turn out great. She smiled at you when you sat across from her and suddenly you were completely infatuated with her. You had completely ignored how beautiful she was due to the overwhelming shock, but now, now it was all you could see. You saw her lips moving but there was no sound, then suddenly her hand was in front of your face, the sound of a snap pulling you out of your trance.

You blinked, your face shifting into a confused state. She laughed.

"You're cute. I said, do you want something to drink?" You nodded, and she looked at you expectantly.

"Oh! Right. Uh, I'll just get," you looked over at the menu, "The number one."

You started standing, but she stopped you. "I'll get it... sweets," She winked at you and walked over to the barista, quickly ordering two coffees.

She turned and smiled sweetly at you before starting to walk back and you suddenly started to mentally beg every single god in the universe that she was your soulmate, and only your soulmate.

Part two? hmm idk i couldn't think of where to go from here lmao.
