Chapter 2:

"Attention please! Attention please! There is a fire reported in the building, please leave towards the nearest exit stairway! Please do NOT use the elevators." Alarms go off. "Why now?" Rameek thinks. He's getting off the bed throwing on the nearest shirt he can find. He hears his mom telling his little brother to see off the balcony what was going on. The alarm goes off often. Majority of the time its false, so it wouldn't be a surprise if that was the case this time. About 5 minutes past.A knock hits Rameek's door. "Come in!" His little brother Jahlil opens the door."RaRa.." That's Rameek's family nickname.He cuts his brother off  "What?" Jahlil replies quickly " put some shoes on its real" Rameek says "How you know? " Jahlil starts to leave the room. "Its people standin front of the building". Rameek throws his slides on while the alarm is still playing. His mom walks out with his baby sister and a diaper bag. "You have everything?" his mom asks. Both Rameek and Jahlil answers "Yes".

They open the door to the staircase and there is a large amount of people walking down the stairs including old people.. A lot of noise is from people talking over one another. They soon join in with the crowd headed to the exit.

They leave the building finally after long 8 flights of stairs. He uncovered his nose from his shirt. "Them stairs stink." The first thoughts that run through his mind. A guy with a hoodie on his head is walking Rameek's way.His hand is held up in form for a handshake as he came closer. He can't really see his face but he knows its someone he's 'cool with'... whatever that is. "Yo bro!" The hooded boy yells to Rameek. He takes his hoodie off, its Tyreese. They shake hands. "What's goin on?" Rameek asked. Tyreese answers in confusion. "Umm iont even know.We just got here." He looks up at the building in search for some smoke or fire. Rameek looks to see where his family sat. Instead he finds Daquan walking out of the building with that girl Saniyah. She's smiling and laughing. "Yeah he got her" is running through Rameek's head as he watches them walk out. Daquan head nods Rameek and Tyreese, he cheeses at them letting them know he is close to getting with her. "Look at Tymeer wanna be rich ass." Tyreese points at him. Rameek replied "Why he comin over here? That nigga live in the other building." A third voice enters in on the conversation "His mom probably sent his ass over here to be nosey." They both turn around. It's Daquan trying to creep them out. It didn't work. They all shake hands and walk over to one of the benches that lies in between the gap that separates the two buildings. Nobody is standing nor sitting there so its perfect. Tymeer walks up to them but before he could speak Tyreese asks "What time is it?" Tymeer starts to take his phone out his shorts while shaking they're hands. "10:36." Tyreese says quickly. "Why yo ass out this late? Ya momma know?" They all slighty laugh. Tymeer replies "Haha...Nah my mom sent me over here to be nosey." The three boys immediately start cracking up. Daquan screams out "Nigga I told you, I told you!!!" Tymeer has a smirk on his face while shaking his head saying "Yall niggas stay biddin on somebody yo." The laughing fades after a few seconds. Daquan says to Tymeer "Ayo remember that jawn we was talkin to earlier?" Tymeer looks at Daquan with a look of agreement. He knows who he's talking about. Daquan continues "Yo I'm bout to bag her"  A look of playful disbelief shows on Tymeers face. He instantly says "Fruadin" A quick answer was spoken "Yo I swear to god!" Tymeer looks at Daquan "You said gob". Rameek joins in and says "Y'all niggas need to chill neither of y'all gettin pussy" Rameek and Tyreese laugh. Daquan replied saying "Nigga you just mad cuz she ain't give you no play." Rameek has a salty face on while the other 3 clown him. He replied saying "Aye fuck y'all."

They all keep talking, but Rameek gets up and walks to where his family is. He sits next his mom, and says in a joking voice "Hey mommy!".She gives him a mean stare and replies back "I'm not in the mood to play RaRa.It's too hot for this." She rolled her eyes. He says "Oh, my bad mom.You found out what's goin on?".She replied saying "Yeah.Somebody told me somebody threw fire in the garbage chute. And I heard somebody say it was a crackhead smoking in the hallway and saw a guard,so she threw it in there." Rameek looks up to the building and to all the fire trucks and men. He thought "All this shit for that?" He turns to his mom and said  "Or it could've been some bad behind kids.." She replied quickly "It don't matter it was still dumb."  "You right" Rameek said.Then he gets up to find his brother. He finds him and some other kids doing backflips in the grass In front of the other building. Rameek says in his mind "I keep tellin him not to do that...That's that dirty youngbull shit." He shakes his head and walks away.
