Harry vented to Niall that weekend, and he vowed to never let Louis Tomlinson have such a hold on him again. The boy he though was his best friend, didn't even like him. Harry would never forget the tone in Louis' voice from that day. The disgust that oozed from the sentence. Harry had never felt more ashamed of who he was, and at the hands of the one he loved, he didn't know if you could ever get over that.

School was different too. Now in their second term, Louis tried to talk to Harry at school the first few days after, but with Harry's persistent avoiding, and Louis now busy with his exams and applying for collage, they hadn't spoken since.
Harry was being invited to parties, and he'd see Louis sometimes, but he'd just make sure it looked like he was having a great time with his friends, and he'd make sure to ask Niall before taking a glance at Louis, just to make sure the older boy never caught him. He couldn't risk planting the thought of Harry still caring in his head.
But as Harry predicted, Louis gave up after a while. He stopped trying to talk to Harry, having to be told by Niall to "go away". He stopped looking for Harry in the hallways. He stopped waiting by Harry's locker. He stopped trying. And Harry couldn't help but feel disappointed. Even though he knew this was going to happen. He just couldn't figure out where they went wrong. He had done nothing wrong to Louis, and he hadn't changed one bit since the day they met.
So what had he done to make Louis hate him?

Anne and Jay tried getting Harry to talk to Louis again. It broke their Hearts that their sons who were best friends wouldn't talk to each other anymore. Anne tried to get Harry to join her to visit the Tomlinson's for a few hours, but he refused. And when Jay brought the kids over, Harry locked himself in his room. So eventually Louis stopped going with them.
The mothers eventually gave up too. Though not like the boys had. They knew of the connection their sons shared. It was only a matter of time before they found their way back to one another. And they would wait patiently for that to happen.

Harry would often think of the times they had together.
He remembers the first time he and Louis had a sleepover, it was at Louis' house, and they invited him into their home with open arms, and Jay was so much like his own mother, that she was like a second mum to him.
Harry climbed into Louis' bed and he was so nervous that he had a slight shake. He tried to get a hold of himself and stop, but the fact that Louis was laying right next to him, wearing significantly less clothes than usual, was taking over his body. Louis rolled over and he two of them were facing one another, and Louis reached out his hand and cupped Harry's face.
"Don't be nervous, love. It's just sleeping" He smiled and Harry subconsciously let out one last shaky breath and relaxed. They talked until Harry fell asleep, and Louis stared at the younger boys face a little while longer until he too fell asleep, that's when the seed was plants for Louis. The seed being the initial infatuation.
