It has been five years since Arena heard from LJ. A year of waiting, but he never called nor visit. As the years went on, Arena carried on with her life. Every now and then he'll come to her mind. When he does, Arena heads off to the ranch.
Arena will be graduating high school tonight. Shes excited but yet nervous. After she graduates, shes planning to be a stock contractor and rodeo at the same time.
"Arena.. baby were gonna be late" Beau said
"Im comin dad" Arena said while walking down the stairs.
She wore a black sundress, brown cowboy boots, jewelry, and make up. She curled her hair, making it full.
"Oooh.. my baby is graduating today. I need to take before and after pictures" Jessie said
"Ookay mom"
Arena stood beside her mom and smiled at the camera. Then her and Beau took a picture. After a moment of picture taking, they were off to the stadium.
"Arena Hill" Announced the principle
Arena's parents went wild. She shred a few tears and waved at them then took her seat. Arena was dredding for this ceremony to be done with. Finally they announced the Class of 2014.
Arena went out to look for her parents and spotted them. Jessie ran up to her and pulled her in for a tight embrace. Jessie had tears rolling down and Beau hugged her.
"Is that my beautiful neice" a familiar voice talked
Arena turned around.
"Uncle Julio.."
Arena ran towards him and hugged him. She let go and looked at him. They both walked to her parents. Beau and Julio exchanged handshakes. Julio amd Jessie gave one another a hug.
"So where we taking this beautiful gal to"
"Well.. before we leave here.. Arena your mom and I have something for you" her dad said
He handed her a pair of keys. A truck and trailer key. Beau led her to the parking lot. Beau showed her the button to press. She pressed it and heard a truck start. She looked and saw a 2014 Chevy Durmax along with a stock trailer. On the truck and trailer it had her own personal brand. Her jaw dropped and jumped with joy.
"Daddy I love it.. thank you.. thank you.. I love you daddy" she said with excitement
"Love you too Kid" Beau said
"Can I drive it"
"Its yours.. oh.. the other surprise.. is that you are going with Uncle Julio for rest of the PBR tour"
"No way"
"Yes way" Julio said
Arena jumped with tears of joy. She hugged everyone of them. Arena walked towards her new rig. She sat in the driver seat and started the truck.
"I'll go with Arena" Julio said
"Ok" Beau replied
Arena slowly pulled out of the parking lot. She had a big smile plastered on her face. Arena pulled into a steakhouse.
Arena and Julio sat at the table waiting for her parents.
"Arena.. how you been" Julio asked
"Im good.. and yourself"
"Been better.. since I got a travelin pard now"
"I know! Im so excited.. Ive always wanted to do this"
"Yeah.. Our last stop before the break is next week."
"What stop is that"
"Las Vegas.. Last Cowboy Standing"
"Oh my god!! When we leavin"
"Well you and I are leaving tomorrow with your rig and clothes.. cause you'll be stayin with me now!"
"Im.. Im speechless now.."
"Welcome to stock contracting my dear"
"Is the PBR gonna be the only stops will be doing"
"No.. we got some prorodeos also"
"Wow! Everything is happening so fast"
Arena and Julio talked more until her parents finally walked in. Arena sat across from her dad. She couldnt stop smiling. Everything she dreamed of is coming true.
It was filled with smiles and laughter all night. Beau telling stories about Arena. She could he was trying to avoid the memories of LJ. Deep down she still felt empty. Arena still kept a smile.
After dinner, everyone made it home. Julio slept in the guess bedroom. Once her parents went to bed, she knocked on Julio's door.
"Yeah" he said
"Can I come in" Arena asked
"Sure"
Arena turned the door knob and walked in. She quitely closed the door.
"Hey baby girl whats the matter"
"Uh.. memories are rushin back"
"And what kind of memories are we talkin here"
"First love"
"Who was this lucky boy"
"We met when we were kids. We did everything together. When our teenage stage rolled around, he told me he loves me.. and I just cant let go.. He moved to Texico at age thirteen. I try to not let it get to me. Every now and then he would come to mind"
"Rena I think.. we all experienced a heartache at some point. But we have to keep moving forward. You have a big opportunity here. Dont let anything hold you back. I know Im not much of a love doctor here. If he loves you and he ment it than maybe you dont have to worry. We need sleep. We have a long drive and we can talk more about it on the way"
"Ok.. good night uncle Julio"
"Good night Rena"
Arena walked back into her room. She changed clothes then layed down on her bed. Arena was gonna have a sleepness night. The fact that LJ has been in her dreams non stop. Eventually her eyes started to get heavy and slowly closed her eyes. She went to sleep.
