chapter 4

~Hikari's POV~

I woke up at 5:30 this morning, we're supposed to meet Kakashi at training grounds 7 at 5 o'clock, but knowing Kakashi he'll probably arrive at around 8 o'clock.

I got out of bed and went to do my morning routine. After I finished, I changed into a blue kimono with black fingerless gloves and my blue ninja sandals.

After I finished getting ready, I walked to Yuki's room and woke her up. When she did, I went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple.

"Yuki! Hurry up!" I yelled and heard footsteps running to the kitchen. "Here." I threw the apple at her which she caught easily. "Let's go." I said and we left.

When we got there, I looked around and noticed Kakashi was still not here. 'I should've known.' I sighed.

"YOU'RE LATE!" Sakura and Naruto yelled once they noticed us.

"Kakashi still isn't here." I pointed out, ignoring their outburst and they hung their heads.

I sighed again and sat down in front of the wooden stump.

Yuki was fast asleep on my lap while Sakura was braiding my hair, Sasuke was just leaning on the stump and Naruto was fast asleep leaning against my left arm.

Both Yuki and Sakura are fast asleep on my lap while I was leaning on the stump, stroking their hair, Naruto was still asleep against my arm. I sighed softly and looked at Sasuke, who was staring at me. I signaled him to come closer which he obeys and sat down next to me. I ruffled his hair and allowed him to lean against me, letting him fall asleep.

"Man, don't I feel like a mother." I whispered softly as I watched their peaceful expression.

~third person POV~

Kakashi finally appeared looking like he had all the time in the world. The ninjas all blinked their eyes from their sleep. Sakura looked at Naruto, Naruto looked at Yuki, who looked at both Sakura and Naruto then the three looked at Sasuke. Sasuke stared right back and quickly stood up from the stump with his usual attitude. Naruto smirked when he realized that Sasuke fell asleep on Hikari along with him, Yuki and Sakura.

Kakashi chuckled at the sight. When Naruto and Sakura noticed Kakashi, they pointed an accusing finger at him.

"YOU'RE LATE!!" They yelled.

"Sorry guys. I got lost on the path of life."

"YOU LIAR!!" They yelled again. Sasuke, Yuki and Hikari were just staring in the background.

"Anyway," The silver haired man moved over to one of the stumps and pulled an alarm clock from who knows where. "The time is set for noon. Your task is to take these bells from us." Kakashi handed Hikari a bell which she attached to her right hip.

"Wait a minute! There's four of us, how come there's only three bells?" Sakura screeched.

"Well that way at least one of you will end up tied to a post and is ultimately disqualified from failing to complete the mission. That one goes back to the academy. Then again, all four of you could flunk out too." Kakashi explained.

~Yuki's POV~

"You may use any weapons, including shuriken, if you're not prepared to kill us you won't be able to take the bells." Nee-chan brushed her bangs from her eyes and placed her right hand on her hip, beside the bell.

"But sensei! Those weapons are too dangerous!" Sakura screamed.

"Yeah! You're so slow you can't even dodge a blackboard eraser!! We'll definitely kill you!!" Naruto exclaimed.

"In the real world, those without talent often bark the loudest. Well, ignore Mr. Dead last and start when I say.."

Naruto took out a kunai and charged at Kakashi-sensei, but sensei appeared behind him, holding Naruto's kunai to his neck.

"Calm down, I haven't said start yet." Kakashi-sensei said. "But you came at me with the full intention to kill so... how can I say this? I'm actually starting to like you guys."

"And Sakura, you will also come at us with the intent to kill. If not, I don't see much of a future for you as a Shinobi." Nee-chan said simply and the pink haired banshee gasped. "This is a make it or break it test."

"Get ready, and... start!" Kakashi-sensei said and all of us jumped out of the field.
