Sky glares at Tara. She remembers Christian is still out there, probably miserable, and so she turns and storms out of the room.
"What?" Tara yells at Sky's retreading figure. "Going to go to Christian to kiss it better?"
Sky's memory dissipated and she heard whispers, cutting through her groggy mind. She blinked until her vision cleared.
"Woah, Sky? Are you ok?" said a worried Christian.
"I - yeah, I'm ok, just - wait, why?"
"Your eyes... the pupils were really, really big."
"Really?" Sky said, surprised. "Huh. Well, I just remembered something. How long have I been out?"
Christian shrugged adorably. "I just came in. Your mum just went to get coffee."
"Oh. Oh, good."
"So what did you remember?"
Sky looked outside of the window to her left, watching tree branches sway as she talked. "It was that night. You know, when she....died. We were fighting after she tricked you."
Christian sat back on his hard hospital regulated chair. "Oh. Oh." His eyebrows furrowed.
"I don't blame you, Christian."
Christian looked into her eyes. "You should, Sky. What lame kind of boyfriend doesn't recognize who isn't their girlfriend?"
Sky's heart stuttered at his easy classification of their relationship, and she forced the muscles around her mouth to stay still.
She rolled her eyes at him. "The kind of boyfriend who has a girlfriend with a lame-ass identical twin sister, that's what."
"Yeah...but..."
"I don't care what you say. I forgive you, even though I don't blame you. I blame myself."
"You can't do that, Sky! It isn't your fault either, I mean..." Christian voice faded out at the knock on the door. Sky's mum poked her head around the door. "May I come in?" her mum asked in a faux-cheery voice.
"Yeah, mum," Sky smiled with effort.
"How are you feeling, honey?" her mum asked sympathetically.
"I'm okay."
"I can't believe how crazy that girl must be to attack you like that! Why did she do it?" her mum took Sky's hands into hers, comforting her.
"She...I think she is crazy. Or taking drugs. I don't know." Sky swallowed and looked between Christian and her mum. "I think she might have killed Tara."
Her mum dropped the paper cup in her hand; when it made impact with the ground the lid popped off and hot brown liquid spilled onto the sticky linoleum ground. Christian grabbed some paper towels from the side of the room and mopped up the mess, as Sky's mother sat down with a pale face and shaking hands. "I'm sorry, thank you dear..." she told Christian faintly. "Sky honey, have you told the police about his?"
She shook her head. "Not yet. I have only just woken up a couple of hours ago; they haven't visited yet, I guess."
"I'm going to call for them to question you as soon as you're out of bed," her mum announced, picking up her handbag and kissing Sky's forehead. She left the room shaken.
"Well, that went well," Sky noted.
Christian shook his head. "Did it ever. So...why do you think Tiarna did it? Because she tried to kill you too?"
Sky shrugged. "I guess. But also, she said some dodgy stuff. And she was seriously deranged. And other things, but I can't think right now..." Sky yawned.
