Sweet Pea opened his brown eyes for what felt as the hundredth time. A deep groan escaped his lips. He turned his head to look at the clock on the nightstand. 03.43. He almost couldn't believe that it had only been 5 minutes, since last time he had checked. As if his trouble sleeping wasn't enough, he was sure his left arm was going to fall off any second now. Because there beside of him, were you lying sound asleep; using his muscular arm as a pillow. He took in a deep breath and tried to close his eyes again. The only noise in the trailer being the low buzzing from the fridge and your little snores.
He wasn't exactly sure of what was keeping him awake, but he was really grateful for you being there too. You had a calming affect on him, even though you would quite possibly be the reason for his arm falling off.
After a bit of internal debate he decided he would try to pull his arm away, to he could turn to his side; praying to the gods that he wouldn't disturb your deep slumber. Sweet Pea held his breath as he carefully removed your grip on his arm. You let out a little whimper, which caused him to stop his actions, relieved when you didn't wake up.
He sighed as he rolled onto his side, hoping the new position could ease him to sleep.
Thirty minutes later, he decided to get up and have a glass of water. Running out of options and losing the hope of sleep tonight.
He felt like a zombie, as he moved to the small kitchen and found a glass in cupboard.Quietly he turned on the faucet and gulped down the glass of cold water. He froze as he felt two arms slip around him, resting on his bare stomach. He relaxed into your touch, as you hugged him from behind. You rested your head on his broad back, enjoying the warmth that radiated from his smooth skin.
"Did I wake you up?" he asked, voice hoarse.
"I can't sleep without you," you explained, hugging him a little tighter.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't fall asleep," Sweet Pea murmured, putting the class down. He turned around in your grip, returning your hug as he kissed the top of your head.
"Let's go back to bed, yeah?" you suggested, resting your head on his naked chest as you let out a yawn. You were only wearing his T-shirt and some fuzzy socks and your hair was an absolute mess. He smiled down at you, finding you rather cute in your current state.
"Okay," he said, holding you hand as you went back to the warm, undone bed.
You laid down and pulled the covers up over your body. You opened your arms, gesturing for him to lay down. He let out a small laugh as he laid down, resting his head on your chest as he hugged you tightly. You let your fingers run through his dark hair, knowing it would calm him down.
"God I love you Y/N," Sweet Pea murmured, as he let out a relaxed sigh.
"Good cause you're quite okay yourself," you joked.
He shook his head slightly cause of your response, "Why I'm I even dating you?"
"Because I'm awesome? Becaaause whose shampoo would you use, if I weren't here, huh? Also who would run their fingers through your hair, so you could fall asleep at four a.m?" you asked, with a teasing voice.
"You know about the shampoo?" he gasped, pretending to be shocked.
"Well you're not being that discreet. I barely get to use it, before the bottle is empty. Also, I'm pretty sure that you are the Serpent with the best scented hair, after Toni of course," you giggled as you let out another yawn, eyelids getting heavier and heavier.
"You should get some sleep, don't you have an early shift at Pop's tomorrow babe?" he asked, suddenly a little serious.
"Oh yeah, I'll just drink a lot of coffee, it'll be fine," you mumbled, fingers still brushing though his hair.
"Why you voluntarily say yes to a Sunday morning shift is beyond me," he said, rubbing his eyes. Sweet Pea felt himself getting sleepier and sleepier.
"How else am I supposed to pay for you immense shampoo consumption?"
"It is not that bad," he argued laughing a little,
"I just like the scent, it reminds me of you."
"You are cute at four a.m, do you know that?" you cued sweetly.
"No I'm not, I'm still the big bad Serpent! What are you going on about?" he stated jokingly.
You giggled as you kissed the top of his head, with your soft lips.
You loved this and you loved him. There was simply something magical about the early hours. Something about the minutes right before sunrise, made you feel vulnerable, yet safe as ever.
The feeling of pure love and adoration washed over you, as you heard little snores coming from him.
Another smile graced your lips as you closed your own eyes.
This right here, was something you'd never get tired of.
