Davina woke up the next morning in Sweet Pea's arms. Today was Picken's Day where we celebrate General Picken's. Unfortunately, most of the town is on edge because of a newspaper letter that Jughead and Betty released about all the people he killed and how the Serpents were formed and how Riverdale shouldn't celebrate him. That also meant that they were doing a peaceful protest and Davina was really nervous about how everyone was going to handle it.
In the middle of Veronica and the Pussycats singing the serpents marched into the festival with their mouths taped shut and signs protesting against Pickens day. Shocking everyone, sudden fear on Hiram Lodges face.
"Toni!" Veronica began "jughead what the hell is going on?"
Toni lifted up a bullhorn "we are hear representing the dead and the silenced! Pickens day is a lie. General Pickens slaughtered the Uktena Tribe my grandfathers family! This land, the land the we are standing on, the land that will soon give way to a new Southside was stolen from them. We can't bring them back but we can and we must honor them!"
"Hey folks!" Hiram jumped onto the microphone on stage "hi, Uh- I think we can all be proud to live in a Riverdale where young people stand up for justice. Where a young woman can defend the honor and legacy of her grandfather, where we can celebrate the living legacy of the Uktena who contribute to the rich tapestry that is Riverdale, that is the Southside and that will be SoDale. So let's hear a round of applause for that, am I right??" The crowd starting clapping and cheering "that's right! What do you say people!"
Both Jughead and Davina became enraged. Jughead ripped off his tape and began walking towards the stage when Toni's grandfather gripped onto his shirt and stopped him. Davina however ripped hers off and got partially onto the stage before Sweet Pea grabbed her and pulled her off.
"Fuck you," She shouted into Sweet Peas hands at Hiram.
Later after the fiasco Davina was sitting at a table playing with a basket of cheese fries and moping when Hiram showed up.
"Davina," he said in a friendly tone as he sat down in front of her.
"Hiram," she wasn't as friendly
"You're upset about the Uktena thing, I get it. Let's not forget I'm not your enemy, I'm here to help you." He said placing his hand on hers before standing up and walking away.
"What was that?" Jughead snapped as he sat in front of her.
"Nothing," she tried to end the conversation at that.
