Chapter 39- Disappearing Paths

Sweet Peas POV

As I walked out of that door everything in my body was telling me to go back inside, scoop her up and kiss her. However, something you have to fight your instincts. Sometimes you need to create a new path for yourself.

As I drove away I kept seeing her face flash in my mind, the face of betrayal. I wanted so badly to be who she wanted, who she needed me to be but I was losing myself. I just needed to think, I needed space.

So I left.

I went to my aunts house because at least there I could be with the one person I love most in this world. Cherry. I went into her room and curled up in her bed beside her. I began playing with her hair and I watched her as she slept.

The next morning I woke up to Cherry staring at me and I just looked around the room confused.

"Why are you staring at me?"

"Where's Davy?" She asked and my heart cramped

"She's at her house,"

"You mean your house," Cherry corrected me

"I don't know if it's still also my house,"

"Oh, did you leave like mom left us?" Cherry asked and I just looked at her

"Cherry..."

"You shouldn't leave those you love, Pea's and Carrots." Cherry said as she jumped off the bed and began walking out of the room

She was right, you shouldn't leave those you love. However, if that were the case how could Davina leave me so many times? She did come back to me every time though, and every time I fell for her again.

Davina's POV

I sat there on the floor refusing to listen to my family tell me to get up and get on with my life. I ruined it, I always ruin everything. I couldn't keep the ghoulies away from Jughead or the Serpents, I couldn't save my baby, I was cursed to live this life with everything I wanted just beyond my reach.

Later that day my father walked back into the house, I was confused because he had just left not long ago. He didn't say anything instead he went straight to the couch and dropped 2 six packs on the table beside him.

"Why are you still on the floor?" He asked

"I'm currently wallowing in self pity, why are you drinking?" I asked back

"Hiram Lodge fired me," he said as he cracked a bottle open and took a swig.

"You want one?" he asked me and I just looked at him with sad eyes.

"No, I can't."

He just looked at me for a minute as if he was studying everything. He just shrugged before drinking the rest of the bottle. I moved over and sat at his feet. Even with him being in this mood I still felt perfectly content with him.

"You're pregnant," he said out of the blue catching me off guard

"Yeah." Is all I could muster

"So you lied to me before,"

"No! No!" I said quickly "I found out just before I tried to save Jug from the ghoulies."

"Miss Jones?" A woman asked over the phone

"This is she," I answered

"My name is Maria, I'm from Doctor Berry's office."
