Chapter 29- Margaritas and Hot Tubs

"Awesome because you guys haven't tried my jalapeno margaritas. Who wants one?" Veronica said as she stood up from the table to begin making the drinks

Davina and Sweet Pea continued sitting on the floor except Davina kept her eyes on her brother scanning him for any sign of being uncomfortable. When she decided there was nothing she let her eyes trail back to Sweet Pea who was playing Candy Crush on his phone as his chin rested on her shoulder and his arms and phone were around her waist.

Finally they got off the floor and everyone moved to the living room and sat on the couches curled up in blankets while drinking their margaritas.

"I'd like to propose a toast," Jughead began as he stood up "To the lodges and their hospitality and to putting the past behind us."

"Cheers!" Everyone shouted while Davina shifted uncomfortably in Sweet Peas arms and forced herself to say it as well. She loved Veronica, as she was like a sister to her but nobody knew Davina's history with Hiram and it made her extremely uncomfortable especially with how things are going between Hiram and the South Side.

"So, your parents come up here a lot these days, Veronica?" Jughead began as he sat down leaving Betty and Davina to exchange a look

"Not as much as they'd like." Veronica began "Daddy's such a workaholic, you know."

"On the SoDale project?" Jughead questioned and Davina lightly kicked Jughead under her blanket while Sweet Pea whispered in her ear

"What's he doing?" Sweet Pea questioned

"Being Intrusive," She whispered back

"How's that doing? Is that heating up? Still getting intense?" Jug continued to pester causing Betty to acknowledge what he was doing

"It is," Veronica stated "Luckily, Archie's dad is doing such a superb job of keeping everything on schedule."

"Vee, tell us more about your fancy neighbors!" Betty chimed in

"Yes!" Davina stated "I agree, I'd love to know more about this area." She shot Jughead a warning glance as Sweet Pea bit back a laugh knowing this could get messy.

"Yeah, are they in the same business as your dad?" Jughead questioned yet again and Davina was getting ready to wrangle his neck but Sweet Pea held her hands still between his.

"Jughead! I mean it." Betty whispered

"Guys, what's up?" Archie questioned and Davina knew this was it...this was how a fight was going to start

"Betty, I'm just making idle conversation." Jughead said as he shifted in his seat "I'm sorry. Please continue."

"It's a hodgepodge, really. Some are in entertainment, some are in business, some are in real estate." Veronica continued and Davina leaned into Sweet Pea's ear

"Can we run away? Is it too late?"

Sweet Pea laughed at her "This is too entertaining to run away."

"Entertaining? What about this is entertaining?" She looked at him slightly annoyed but amused by his smirk

"How uncomfortable everyone is but nobody else knows why the other person is uncomfortable." Davina lightly pushed Sweets at his response and leaned back into his chest as they rejoined the conversation

"Jughead, Seriously! This isn't 20 questions." Betty snapped and Sweets looked at her impressed

"Toxic twin alert. I knew things weren't kosher in the state of Bughead." Veronica said as she whispered to Archie and Sweets leaned in
