Chapter 9 A Powerful Ally

I love pizza, especially my second mom's pizza. (After knowing her so long it doesn't even phase her when I call her mom) She had skills that made all the magic in the world useless. She could make any enemy an ally.

The car was parked in front of the parlor. It was seven so we arrived right after the dinner rush, and boy. The tables were nasty.
"Go find a table uncle, I need to grab a rag"
"What?"
I ran inside and asked the cashier to throw me a rag. He just smiled and said. "Welcome back Luke" he tossed me a rag and I dashed to the bog round table.

From behind me I heard my favorite Italian thug address me.
"You leave for a week, show up and not talk to me and Ma?"
"Danny... Don't be so hard on Lucas, he means well"
I turned and walked up to him.
"Yeah I missed you to brother"
We High fived and ended our hand shake with a fist bump.
Ma stood next to Danny and held out her arms.
"It's good to see ya Ma"
"I'm glad your back, I needed my favorite patron back"
I gave her a hug. She smelled of lavender, despite working in the back all day.

Uncle, Nathan, and Luna walked through the door. Uncle waved at Ma and said hello.
"You'll have to introduce me to the lady Luke"
Danny winked at me and nudged me in the arm.
"Ha no way, she's outta your league Danny"
Ma spoke up.
"The four of you can take the corner booth next to the window"
We wandered over and sat down. I was sitting next to luna, I sat on the outer edge facing the window.

Being as everyone already knows my favorite pizza, Ma already started preparing it. Everyone else ordered pepperoni and Sausage.

Danny went on brake and grabbed a nearby seat. He spun it around and sat at the edge of the table.

"Lucas! Man its been so boring since you left with your mom. Apperently, an Ex-boyfriend of lena's or something is back in town and has been spending a lot if time with her dad"
"Don't get me started dude, I just hope he doesn't make a move on my woman"
"Lol, by the way, care to introduce me?"
I had almost forgot that he hadn't met Nathan and Luna.
Nathan stood up and shook his hand.
"Names Nathan, Nathan Thomas"
"And I'm Danny Moretti, I've been friends with Lucas for a while"
Luna said hi, but I had to step in.
"Her name is Luna Marcus, she's shy but cool"
"Ah, well I hope we can get along Luna"
She actually spoke.
"Yeah..."
We spent the time eating food, bullshitting, and explaining what happened to me in California. He was understanding and believed everyword I said. Like he somehow already knew.

After a while we got ready to leave. I said goodbye Danny and Ma, then walked outside.
"Hey Uncle, I'm gonna walk home. Can you give them a ride? I need some alone time"
He nodded and waved for them to hop back into the car. After they left I walked my way towards the house.

Just as I turned to the next block I say the forest. It drew me in for some reason. So naturally I turned and walked towards the mountains.

The crisp air of night time filled my lungs as I walked through the dense forest. I walked by a black cherry tree I saw a beautiful golden flower. I sat down with my back to the tree and picked the flower. Finally after breathing in again I let all my frustration out in one good shout.
"FUCK!!!!!"

I don't know why but that relaxed my mind. As I was about to dose off I hear cracking of tree branches and the scream of a shocked falling person.

I looked up just in time to see his dark brown hair right before he landed on top of me.
"Ow, that wasn't very fun, next time remind yourself never to JUMP THROUGH STRANGE PORTALS!!!"
"Hi, uh names Lucas. Could you maybe... GET OFF ME"
"Oh sorry about that Lucas"
