THE NEXT DAY

It's time to head out. Cameron and I say goodbye to my friends and family before jumping back in the car and heading back to our house.

On the way there, we jam out to our favorite childhood bands and predict what Hana and Booboo's next moves will be. In no time, we're back in our cozy Californian cabana. The first thing we do is call BooBoo and Hana, but they don't pick up. "Probably too busy being overwhelmed by fame" Cameron smirks and I giggle. It's so crazy how the world works.

I'm about to lay on our bed and watch A Walk to Remember with Cam when the doorbell rings. I grin. "Did you order food?" I ask excitedly, but Cameron shakes his head no with a look of confusion. I furrow my eyebrows. "Don't worry I'll get it" I exclaim, slowly getting up and cautiously walking to the door. I glance into the peephole. No one's outside.

I shrug and open it, looking around the premises for any sign of human presence. Absolutely nothing. Until I look down and see a   silky black envelope with my name engraved in beautiful white calligraphy on it.

I raise an eyebrow and bend down to pick it up. It's not very heavy.

Sighing, I take it back to our room and throw it onto Cameron's stomach. He sits up and turns the envelope around redundantly. "Open it please" I bite my lip. I've always been told not to open envelopes without proper addressing, especially ones that look suspicious or seem to have a faux sugarcoating. At the same time, it couldn't possibly hold something as dangerous as a bomb, and if it did, it was the smallest, most lightest bomb I'd ever heard of.

Cameron rips it open carefully and withdraws from the envelope a tiny card. You can barely even see the words. Cameron squints and brings the card closer to his face. "You can run but you can't hide" he whispers, and looks up to me frustrated. "I've already went through the cruel housewarming with Ariel, can't our neighbors build a bridge and get over this" he scoffs, throwing the envelope and card to the side.

I cross my arms and pretend to be just as oblivious or unbothered as Cameron is managing to appear, but something about the handwriting is oh so familiar to me.
