ethan's heart pounded. his knuckles turning white from gripping the steering wheel. his left leg bouncing up and down, impatiently. la's traffic was slow, but to ethan, it was slower. he had to get to the hospital, which was where you were.
i feel the darkness, when away from you
he couldn't help but wait until he could hold you in his arms. sweat starting to form on his forehead. he was frustrated with the traffic. he had enough, until he honked his horn. a lot of people had moved to the side. ethan took this chance to press down on the gas pedal. he was over the speed limit. eventually he found an empty road that led to the hospital. he quickly thought of you, and his heart clenched. he was afraid to lose you. it would be too much pain for him to handle.

he found his way into the emergency room desk.
"where is she!? what room is y/f/n - y/l/n in!?"
"sir calm down, who are you to her?"
"her future husband" he sighed.
"room 323, third floor."
he ran towards the elevator, and once off, he ran to your room. he opened the door and saw you with you eyes closed, laying on the hospital bed.

he sat down in the chair next to the bed. he saw your phone dead on the table beside him. he held his face in his hands. all of his thoughts about you, ran through his head.
how you two would constantly sneak out your house, and go watch the stars at the beach.
all those times where he would make you smile.
your smile, he loved it.
and your eyes.
and most importantly he loved you, and your beautiful personality.
all that was important, was that you were here.
with him.

ethan began to cry and sob. he took another look at you. he saw all the wires and cables, that were connected to your body. he just wanted to hear your voice.
i learned to love you, just like the past
he truly loved you. more than anything in the world. he stood up, and wiped his tears. he walked over to the other side of the bed, and stared at your left hand. where your engagement ring was.
he remembered when he proposed to you. he secretly held a luncheon. and out of nowhere, in front of all of yours and his' close friends and family. you cried happy tears.
ethan came back to reality, and stared at your face. he blamed himself for the car crash.
you slowly, blinked and opened your eyes. ethan was holding your hand.
"ethan?"
"y/n, i'm so sorry this happened, i love you more than anything".

you smiled. he pecked your lips. and you wiped his tears away with your thumb.
"i love you too ethan"
ethan pulled a chair close to the bed and sat on it. then he wrapped his arms around your waist, and laid his head on your lap. you leaned foward, and kissed his forehead. you leaned back, and slowly began to run your hands through this soft hair to calm him down after you saw his tear stained cheeks.
he couldn't be more relieved in life. and more happy. to have you here, and for you to be his soon to be wife. he couldn't wait until you would get married, and spent all the time together. just the two of you. ethan's eyes started to blink slowly, and soon fell into a light sleep.
you were thankful to have someone like ethan, to care for you. you eventually fell asleep as well.
