It was a normal day in Vienna. The vibrant city was full of talented people. Amongst them, scholars from inside and outside of the country could be found. Two of them were one of the best pianist, Lichts Todoroki Jekylland, and one of the best actor, Hyde Lawless.
"Don't try my patience, you demon." Licht scowled.
The sweets shop being the lover quarrel's setting was a pretty renowned one. The angelic teenager often gave the store regular patronage. By regular, it meant daily.
"That's a crude way to call your lover!" Hyde complained. "I can't just buy it for you, your Mom said you can't eat too much sweets."
"I'm an angel. Heavenly tastes are only befitting of me." Licht reasoned unreasonably which made Hyde laughed more, but stood his ground still. "A no is a no Licht-tan. You never liked going to the dentist either." He teased and traced the ravenette's lips, fully knowing a kick would be coming for the action. And it did.
Licht averted his gaze, though. As mentioned, he considered the dentist a place weakening his angelic powers. "Shut up demon. An angel should be free to feel happy." Licht pouted slightly.
The blonde sighed. He'd been used to handling his lovely angel, but he was often fed of his eccentric demeanour. Then, a brilliant idea flashed in his intelligent mind.
"Licht-tan~ I know how to make this a win-win situation!" He grinned widely.
Licht just stared at his with hard and slightly confused eyes. Gazing at those eyes, Hyde knew he just had to do it. He grabbed Licht's hand, which earned him a light kick in the shin and a slight feverish cheeks of the pianist.
"Where are we going, shit rat?" Licht questioned impatiently as the blonde only smiled and replied, "just watch."
They arrived at a convenient store only a few blocks from their original stand. Hyde hummed and bought a box while Licht was still puzzled.
"What's that for, demon?" The angel asked. Hyde laughed and led them to his and Licht's boarding house. "I'll tell you when we've gotten ourselves a room." He said in a sultry way, causing Licht to kick him out of embarrassment.
When they finally arrived at their room, Licht bursted out. "So what is this all about?! And why aren't I getting my sweets-"
"You said that you're free to be happy, so I'll prove you that it doesn't have to be via tons of candies." Hyde elaborated. "While you'll be proving that I'm wrong, in which if you succeed, I'll buy you the sweets."
"So it's a game to prove which is right." Licht asserted.
"Exactly! As expected of my angel, so fast to catch up! So cool~" Hyde praised. Then he continued. "This is how."
Licht's eyes widened. The box was a snack, a sweet rather well-known.
"A pocky...?"
Nodding energetically, Hyde explained. "You bite one side and I bite another. The one who keeps his pocky intact from another wins. I believe you've known of the game, Licht-tan?" Hyde asked mischievously.
Licht nodded. "So whoever has longer pocky gets to do whatever he wants?"
"Yeap! If I win, Licht-tan will not buy sweets. And don't forget that the win is counted from your total winning ratio~ There are 12 sticks here ♡" Hyde purred.
"Then let's get started." Licht said as he unwrapped the snack. Meanwhile, Hyde also prepared by taking his glasses off.
Hyde took a stick and insert the chocolate-covered part to his mouth, his eyes gesturing Licht to bite the other edge.
