"I promise that I will call you atleast once a week if I make it through" He said.
"Are you sure? What if you get wrapped up in the whole thing and forget?" I ask.
"You know I could never forget you Amelia. You're my special girl. I would forget to eat before I forgot to call you." He responds.
"Okay"

That was 3 years ago. Now it is senior year and I cannot be more excited. I'm finally at the top of the totem pole and everyone must look up to me. The only catch is, I'm about as invisible as a girl can get. Nobody ever notices me and I can't even count how many times I have been ran into or forgotten about. I swear one time a teacher was going through name call and they didn't even know an Amelia Adams. It was the middle of the school year! How do you just forget one of your students out of a class of ten. But this year is going to be different, I can feel it. I am no longer going to be the girl that people have to think back to see if they remember me. I will be the girl that can't leave their minds.
Everyone used to know who I was back when I was apart of the Power Duo. My best friend and I used to be close. We would spend every waking moment with each other. He'd walk me to class and help me when I had too many books to handle. We would play video games until dawn and pig out on what ever candy we felt like having. That was until he decided it would be fun to try out for the X-Factor. That night everything changed. At first we were both so excited to see him accomplish his dreams. But as each week went by that he was on the show, the less and less he called. People that saw me now would never guess that I used to be best friends with none othen than Niall Horan.
It's not like it happened over night. The changes came slowly and then all at once. I started seeing Niall less and less especially when he was put together with those four other boys. He began hanging out with them and picking up on little phrases that they said. I felt like an outsider when it was just the two of us talking. He would tell me about all the things happening on the show but I could hardly understand what he was saying. That wasn't the worst part. Soon I found my calls going to voicemail or where he picks up and says he can't really talk this week. After a few weeks of trying to call him I just gave up. I figured he'd call me if he wanted to talk. Except he never called. Once he stopped calling I just stopped watching the show. It hurt too much to see how happy he was while I was stuck in school miserable. We promised each other before entering high school that we would attend all of the dances together and watch each other's games. But after Freshman year was over I was left alone. There was another boy who was close to Niall, almost as close to him as I was. Corey was sort of a mutual friend. Once Niall left Corey and I stuck together and he tried to fill the holes Niall left. But it just wasn't the same.
Halfway through Sophomore year a new girl came to our school named Caitlin. We had a few classes together and soon started to bond. Now as we are both entering our Senior year she is still my best friend. She, Corey and I are stuck together like glue.
Walking into my first period class I can feel the buzz of excitement over it being the beginning of our senior year...or maybe it's just the feeling of every person in the room staring at me. After Niall left I started pushing people away and depending on only me, myself and I. So no one ever really paid attention to me. That's why everyone looking at me is so strange. But that's when I hear everyone whispering.
"Does she know?"
"I wonder if she can help me get noticed by that smoking hot hunk."
"I don't know. I don't think she talks to him anymore. I never hear her say anything about him."
What do I not know? Who is this "smoking hot hunk" people are talking about. If they are trying to get me to help them get noticed by some guy I am probably the least qualified. I haven't talked to a guy about anything other than school work since Tommy Milflenburg in 9th grade. Which turned into a embarassing fiasco.
Every time the teacher turns her back someone started whispering about this person. It's driving me insane. They wil whisper, peak over at me and then start whispering again. I'm just dying to get out of here. Maybe Cait will know what is going on. After 20 more minutes of torture, the bell finally rings. I sprint out of the classroom in a search for Caitlin.
As I'm rounding the corner I can see her standing by my locker. Why would she be standing there? Her locker is on the other side of the school along with her next classroom. As I walk up to her she just looks at me with this serious face.
"What's going on? Do you know what people are talking about? Does it have to do with me because they keep starring at me? What's with the serious face?" I ask about 10x faster than I usually talk.
"Amelia...Niall is coming back to school." She says slowly as she waits for realization to settle on my face.
