Mitsuki and Kaneki started to become good friends. She always waited for that text message from Kaneki, since he was so busy. But, one time it wasn't to hang out. It was something else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaneki: Hey, Mitsu?
Mitsuki: Hey. Something wrong?
Kaneki: You noticed already? Haha,
Mitsuki: I can read people, you know. Don't you forget that. :)
Kaneki: Okay, okay. Well...
Kaneki: I don't think we can hang out anymore.
Mitsuki: Why..?
Kaneki: Mitsu...to tell you the truth...
Kaneki: I'm in Aogiri Tree...I'm dangerous...
Kaneki: I'm sorry for hiding it from you all this time...I was afraid what you might've said.
Mitsuki: But...Kaneki...
Kaneki: I'm not saying goodbye right now. I just want to see you again first. Do you remember where we actually first met?
Mitsuki: Yes, why?
Kaneki: Let's meet there. I have something to tell you as well.
Mitsuki: Okay. I'll be there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mitsuki walked into the alley, as she saw Kaneki in front of her. She ran to him, slowing down as she got closer to him. "Hey."

He turned around, as Mitsuki analyzed the expression on his face. She could tell he was afraid of what he was going to say.

Instantly, Kaneki hugged her. Her heart started to race, but she hugged back. "It's okay..."

"I'm sorry I have to do this to you...but I can't hang out with you anymore...I'll just hurt you..."

Kaneki started to cry, as Mitsuki's heart wanted to shatter. It hurt to see him cry.

"I understand...but don't be afraid. I'll always be here, no matter what. Just...please...don't forget me Kaneki."

"As long as you do the same...Mitsuki.."

They stayed like that for a few more minutes, as Kaneki pulled away. Mitsuki warmly smiled at him, as a blush appeared on his face. She wiped away one of his tears, as his pals jumped down. "...See you later Mitsuki."

"See you later, Kaneki." Tears fell down her face, as she watched Kaneki look back at her one more time. Then, he was gone. Gone, forever...?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Mitsuki got home, her eyes were puffy from crying. She deeply didn't want him to go. He wasn't any friend of hers, he was someone very special to her. Kaneki was someone who risked his life for hers, and someone who she couldn't imagine her life without. As she sat on her bed, she felt something in her pocket of her jacket. It was a box.
She took it out, and looked at the black box. Mitsuki went over to her desk, as she opened it with care. It was a small, golden bracelet and Mitsuki's eyes glistened at the sight of it. It was beautiful. She took out the bracelet, as she put it on her wrist. It complimented Mitsuki nicely, but she opened the note.
I hope you like the bracelet, I'm not too great at picking stuff out for women, haha. Again, I'm so dearly sorry I have to leave you... I know if I stayed around you while working with Aogiri, I would just bring tragedies to you that you don't deserve. I was too nervous to tell you one thing before I went...but...I hope this still has it's meaning in writing.
I like you, Mitsuki. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this in person. But, I'll wait until we meet again. I'll wait until that day I see you again. I'll wait for that day, when I can see your precious face again.
K.K
Mitsuki smiled at the note, as a tear fell onto it. She quietly muttered to herself, as she read the note over again. "It's okay Kaneki. I'll wait as well. I'll wait for you. And...I...feel the same way." She warmly smiled, as she folded the note and put it back in the box. "I'll miss you, Kaneki.."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She discovered Anteiku, and she wasn't excepting to be compared to Kaneki. "Welcome to Anteiku," The blue haired girl stared at her weirdly, as Mitsuki started to felt a little uncomfortable. "I'm sorry for staring, take a seat." Mitsuki then ordered and sipped her coffee, as she looked at her bracelet.

"Is it okay if I ask you a question?" The blue haired girl approached her, as Mitsuki nodded. "Do you happen to know...Ken Kaneki?" Mitsuki looked down, glancing at her bracelet. 'Should I be truthful...? Yeah, there's no point in lying...' She'd nod, as the blue haired girl gave her a look. "Then you should know my name. I'm Touka Kirishima. It's nice to meet you..."

"Mitsuki. Mitsuki Fujinuma." She tucked a piece of her hair back, as she glanced at the TV. "The Eyepatch ghoul has just been reported causing a few car collisions along with Aogiri Tree." Mitsuki sighed, as she glanced at the bracelet again. Touka saw Mitsuki kept looking at the bracelet, as she wondered what it was about. "You remind me of him. He has an eyepatch and all, like you. The same one, on the same eye." Mitsuki got up, and nodded. "I'll be going, thanks for the coffee." Touka waved, as she thought about Mitsuki. "Does she know about him?"

"Wow, this place is big." Mitsuki looked around, she never imagined having a tour of the CCG building. "I'm surprised you don't get lost in here, Miss Mado and Mister Amon." She smiled lightly at them both, as Amon looked at Akira and nodded. "She'll be with you for the time being. I have to see someone privately." Amon walked into a room, as Mitsuki nodded. "So, this is the main headquarters." Mitsuki looked up, seeing the giant opening above. It was opening... "Wow," She decided to ignore the roof, seeming it was normal. Suddenly, the alarm went off. "Investigator Mado, Aogiri is attacking!" A voice from her radio called out, as she took Mitsuki's hand. "Come, we have to get Investigator Amon!" Mitsuki's heart sank. Aogiri was attacking. Which meant she had a chance of seeing Kaneki again.
