Seeing Him

From across the room, she saw him.

She couldn't help but stare,

Or notice that his hair could use a trim,

Or that his skin was rather fair.

She could see the lack of expression on his face,

And wondered what it would be like to put a smile on his lips.

She knew almost instantly that he would be worth the chase,

But she knew that when she talked to him, she was bound to make a slip.

In the halls at school she saw him pass by,

No pep in his step, yet light on his feet,

Which was nice to see for such a big guy.

She wondered if he'd act differently if she saw him on the street.
