From across the room, she saw him.
She couldn't help but stare,
Or notice that his hair could use a trim,
Or that his skin was rather fair.
She could see the lack of expression on his face,
And wondered what it would be like to put a smile on his lips.
She knew almost instantly that he would be worth the chase,
But she knew that when she talked to him, she was bound to make a slip.
In the halls at school she saw him pass by,
No pep in his step, yet light on his feet,
Which was nice to see for such a big guy.
She wondered if he'd act differently if she saw him on the street.
