Stony Silence

The sun shone brightly in the sky,

The flowers were blooming all around.

The grass and trees looked hot and dry,

And the air could melt the makeup off of a clown.

The aroma of the outside was hot and wet,

That's all she could make of it.

Her skin was cool from the mid-September sweat,

And it almost felt as if Hell had made the earth split.

But she felt that Hades most likely felt too lazy to use his ability,

And she smiled at the thought as she inhaled more wet heat.

The concrete almost looked as if the Sun were taking its stability,

As if to water it down would be a treat.

And above stood a tented tree, from others it withdrew,

And in it's stony silence, it grew.
