Him and him

Chapter 2

*The Next Day*

Talon's PoV.

"What took you so long Talon?" My uncle roared at me. "Jeez, Uncle C, relax. I came down as soon as I could. " I replied trying to calm him down. He doesn't seem to be in the best mood and I have no intention of going into the shark tank whatsoever.

"Listen, because I have a plan." He started off. "That is an agent at HQ, she is going to be going out for blind dates. I hear she's got some connection to Gadget. That is why you are going to go for a date with her, in disguise of course, then you will get to Gadget and capture him for me." He ended and started laughing maniacally. Well, the laugh was short-lived as he started coughing, MADcat's hair I presume.

"I don't think that's a very good idea." I said. I may or may not have had other motives that just the fact that his plan had so manyholes in it. How would that random agent lead me to Gadget? How am I even supposed to get to that point? Of course I could use my charm on her, but it would feel wrong. The only person I've done that with in the last 3 years was Penny.

"Talon!" Uncle C thundered, it brought me out of my thoughts. "What are you doing still standing here? Go prepare, the plan starts in 2 days." He basically shoved me out verbally.

I left without saying another word. I headed back to my room, my head a mess. Different thoughts came rushing in all at once.

How am I supposed to do this? How can I flirt with a girl that I know that I'm not attracted to. Penny is the only one that I would ever want to be with. I know I am not the best at showing my emotions, but it's really hard to do that when we're supposed to be sworn enemies. I've tried to tell her how I feel about her multiple times the last few years,but it always came out as teasing her in a flirting manner. It's just that every time I look at her I forget what I was about to say and come up with something else on the spot.

I found myself standing at my doorstep; I walked in and threw myself onto the bed. Then I remembered that I should probably pick some clothes out for the date. The bed was so comfortable though. It wasn't really, but you know how it is when you just don't want to get up.

I groaned and stood up from the bed, going over to my dresser. What should I wear a date? What do normal people wear for dates? Regular clothes I guess.

I decided on a pair of black skinny jeans for a start. "Normal enough." I commented and put the pants aside. Wait, I should probably wear a disguise. That girl works at HQ so I may suspect that she knows who I am, and she would never lead me to Gadget then.

I am sure as heck not going to wear contact lenses, because they are a pain in the ass to put on. I picked out some black frames glasses.

My hair, what should I do about it? There is no way in hell I'm bleaching it and therefore inflicting damage on it. It's perfect right now. I'll just wash out the purple shampoo.

I decided I should at least get a hat of some sort to cover up my perfect locks. I thought a beanie would do, it couldn't be purple, since it would be too suspicious. Yeah, wearing the signature MAD colour, definitely not a good idea. So I just picked out a blue beanie. Hmmm... Black and blue, seems like I already have a colour scheme to follow.

You know what? Let's swap the black framed glasses for blue ones and scrap the beanie, I'll just comb my hair down and hope for the best. It's going to be pretty warm out and I don't want to overheat.

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't focus on what normal people would wear, but what guys that date HQ girls would wear. Nerds, I mean, I already have two PhDs so figuring how smart guys dress shouldn't be a problem. There were tons of preppy dudes at the university I studied at.

Oh, now this makes everything easy. Let's take a white-collar-shirt and a beige vest with navy accents. "Okay, I still feel like I'm missing something here." I looked at the clothes laid out on the floor. What? I had no better place to put them, my room was a mess, but a mess that I could find my stuff in. It was all under control, the only thing that I cared about keeping in a ceratin order was my hair care items. Hair sprays, then styling moussed, palmades, brushes, all from the tallest to the shortest of packaging.

What did the guys at uni usually wear to just hang out and look smart...Think, Talon, think. You're smart, otherwise they wouldn't have given you those degrees. I thought about it for a while until an idea suddenly popped into my impeccably styled head. A bow tie! Of course. I opened the right drawer of my dresser and looked through my selection.Honestly I was surprised by the amount I have collected over the years, with all the disguising it seems like these really come in handy more often than not. A red one caught my attention. White, blue and red, the HQ signature colours, perfect. It's even better that it's the one that makes me more 'approachable' as Uncle C said. I think I should use it more often so that he doesn't get angry with me. Yeah, that's a good plan.

With the visual preparations already behind me I started my research. Yes, that definitely sounds better than watching MADTube videos on how to get the girl or real HQfeed how to articles, which told you step by step what to do on a first date. To be honest, most of the knoledge went over my head, but I would only find out if they helped once I was on the date.
