A/N: Wow, ten chapters and we're still on this journey together. Amazing! I hope you enjoyed the last chapter. The girls are finally leaving Brazil, but our story of Camren is just beginning. Stay tuned!
"Not too rough? I didn't hurt you, did I babe?" The raven-haired girl's voice turned to one of concern, possibly doubt over her now deceased aggressive demeanor. Something came over her when Camila was dressed that way, acting that way, talking that way, practically forcing her to do things against her will.
Camila's fingers continued to paint over her favorite canvas as she shook her head. She craned her neck to resume their tender kiss. They kissed and hummed and nuzzled into each other's bodies, burrowing into their protective shelters where they would stay for the night. Lauren noticed Camila's silence, the younger girl's body still trembling every few seconds.
"Baby, are you sure that you're ok?"
Camila gazed into her favorite pair of eyes, her heavily lidded brown ones glossed over with an unmistakable air of contentedness.
"I've never been better."
There she was, laying above the plush silk sheets, head propped up by her left arm, hair flowing lazily in the morning breeze. Green eyes landed on a gorgeous scene: brunette waves tucked under a sleepy silhouette, the contours of her body hidden beneath the smooth linen, chest rising and falling evenly as her mind wandered down the halls of her deepest dreams. The look on Lauren's face as she watched Camila's unconscious form was one she had worn in interviews throughout the years, when she and Camila knew but denied their intensifying feelings for one another. It was like the younger Cuban was simply too perfect to exist, too effortless in her beauty such that she pumped life into Lauren's frame, pumped vitality into her heart with each simple breath. She allowed her eyes to wander to her bottle-shaped body, her skin so smooth and creamy that Lauren longed to drown in it. Dark pupils froze on her face, the one part of Camila at which she could stare forever. There was a desire to reach out and run her own smooth fingers along her skin, to massage her gorgeous features until she stirred from her inner sanctuary. But she refrained, much too content to drink in the view of a sleepy beauty, intoxicated by her effervescent afterglow from their steamy encounters. Her lithe body, wracked and battered with a pleasurable fatigue, shifted on its side, her right shoulder and hip bone protruding now bathed in the glow of the morning sun.
Without peeling her eyes from Camila's slumbering frame, she shimmied closer to her mate, her strong body effectively spooning the smaller woman without yanking her from her sleepy state. The hold was secure, protective, safe, as if Lauren was her guardian descended from the Gods, the chosen one sent to protect this Angel of Heaven.
She hummed as she felt Camila's twisted body nuzzle into her own, the tiny singer grateful for the warmth emitting from Lauren's ivory skin. It felt so right to be here, so completely right to have her arms wrapped around Camila's torso, to have her lips pecking the silky edges of her shoulders, to have the rhythm of her heartbeat as Camila's alarm clock. Has she always been this in love with her? Did both of them feel this way all this time? As she continued to gaze out at Camila's face, each blink casting her further and further into a bottomless pit of love, she regretted all the time they wasted trying to project their feelings onto other people. Camila with Shawn, and herself with Lucy. In all the moments she awoke with Lucy, their bodies pressed together in a similar fashion, she couldn't recall herself being on the verge of contented tears as she watched her sleep. She couldn't remember looking at someone and feeling like her life suddenly held so much meaning, so much promise. Her mind could barely replay the image of what Lucy looked like in the morning, the older girl knowing she was there but finding the image utterly disenchanting. But with Camila, her eyes could never erase the snippets of life and love that filtered through her lens or the snapshots that played back whenever she blinked her eyes.
