Chapter Ten: Join or Die

This was the worst your SOUL ever felt. Sans looked at you, tears running down his face.

"ten years ago, my brother got sick. alphys told me to save him we had to give him small doses of determination. then...then i screwed up. i was impatient. scared. i wasn't thinking right. i gave him more than i should've. he was fine for a bit. then he died. i gave him the equivalent of an overdose. he died 'cause of me. i don't want to hurt you. i don't wanna kill you...but i have to."

You walked to the SAVE point right next to you.

*You feel your sins crawling on your back.

You gripped the handle of your dusty knife. Tears were streaming down your face. "I didn't mean for this to happen...I didn't want to Reset..."

"i believe you kiya. i really do...i just wish whatever happened didn't happen. it really sucks when you go to sleep next to the love of your life and your daughter and when you wake up you're in a complete different room, house and time." 

You were sobbing so much you could barely see. "I love you..."

Sans looked away for a second, more tears flooding his eyes. He snapped his fingers and one of his Gaster Blasters came out. He shot at you and you dodged. He lifted you up with his telekinesis and slammed you against the floor while he shot bones at you. You got stabbed in the chest and blood stained the bone. You were coughing up blood. You fell on the floor when the bone pulled out of your chest. You felt your HP dropping faster and faster.

"S-Sans..." You reached into your inventory and pulled out food you had stolen from Nice Cream Guy after you killed him. You bit a chunk out of the nice cream and you were healed. You stood up and tried to hit him. He snapped his fingers and he summoned four Gaster Blasters. They shot at you and directly hit you. Then you died.

The fight was so long. Sans's attacks were brutal and unpredictable. You died over and over and over. Then when you finally got a hit on him...

You felt worse than before. You slashed his chest open and blood splattered everywhere. He started bleeding from his mouth. "i...i..." He gasped for air by sucking in breath between his teeth. "i hoped...you would give up...reset...free us again...but...i knew it wasn't true. your soul may be kindness...but you've got a little bit of everything in there...especially determination..." He chuckled. "i...love you kiya...i just wish...our life together...didn't end like...this..."

"No...! Don't...! I didn't want to..."

You held Sans in your arms. You could feel him turning to dust as you rubbed his hand.

Daddy...

Sans looked from you to the little girl in front of him. He knew who she was even though she was much older than before. "______...?"

Yes, it's me daddy. ______.

He smiled and clenched your hand. "i...love you...my baby...bones..." Sans turned to dust in your arms and you cupped his dust in your hands.

"No no no no no no...! NO!" You covered your eyes with your dusty hands and wailed loudly.

You looked up at the little girl next to you. She was no younger than five and no older than ten. Her eyes were identical to Sans's. She had pale white skin and black hair. She was wearing a long black dress and black boots. She was missing her left arm.

Are you daddy's new wife?

You wiped your eyes. "I should be. We should be waking up in our bed. We should be getting our daughter ready for school...I wish I never Reset..."
