I ended up never texting him back or whoever it was acting like they were him to get me to meet him. Then go and its a prank wasn't going to fall for anything stupid. At least that's what I told myself. So I spent my Saturday doing homework and being a loser.
As I walked into school on a clear Monday in February love was in the air it was February 14th Valentines day. The day where every couple is exchanging gifts for there lovers and there's making out happening in the hallways. As for the singles, they walk sadly through the halls hoping someone will ask us to be their valentines or we walk around sad. As for me, I'm always happy on Valentines Day, why because I don't have to spend money on a stupid present for someone. I can't say I hate or love Valentines Day I hate and love some parts. Like I hate the couples making out in front of everyone, the noises that come from them omg ew. I love the love between to people. I hate all the unmeaningful gifts couples give each other like chocolate or a teddy bear. What does that have to do with your relationship unless you call your girlfriend teddy then no teddy bears. Classes were cut short for the school masquerade Valentines Day dance. All grades we allowed to attend but you have to keep your mask on your love has to find you without you telling them. It's to see if you can tell your partner's interest and details in personality.
I, of course, have no date so I and Dylan are going together as friends. I still had no dress so at lunchtime I went to a dress store called After The Ball and looked around for a dress. I tried on so many dresses from straight sparkly to a puffy ball gown. Nothing was working, until in the very bad of the rack, I saw a dress that was white ball gown that wasn't too puffy but just enough. It had a diamond center embellishment with pearls all around the skirt.
As I tried it on the lady from outside said "Are you ready to see yourself?
I answer excitingly "Yes."
As I walked out the lady gasped in surprise and walked up to me.
"You look amazing," she said smiling
"Really? I asked shyly
"Yes," she said excitingly as she grabbed a matching mask and handed it to me.
As I looked at myself I could see what she saw. I looked amazing I had never looked as good as I did right then. I was in love with this dress. As I checked out she smiled and waved me off. I arrived at school just in time for my Algebra class. In algebra class, we had to be partnered for a project we're doing. The teacher had already chosen the groups and written them on the board. I skimmed the board looking for my name I saw what I couldn't believe. I was partners with Eric of all people. This project was a big one and I would have to do the whole thing with Eric. I don't think I can do this.
As I was thinking to myself my thoughts were disrupted when Eric came and said: "Hey, looks like we're partners."
I faked a smile and said, "Yeah, looks like we are."
As the rest of the day progressed everyone was getting very excited about the dance that was going to be happening later that night. All the girls squeal in excitement as the boy's fist bumped as they talked about the hooks up that were going to happen during and after the dance. As for me and most of the "unpopular" kids we were, of course, laughing at the Beckys and the jocks for getting with each other. Today was going to be the battle of seeing who doesn't get pregnant so far it was going to be a tie between freak in the sheets Cat or pure Emma who hasn't had her cherry popped yet.
It was the last half hour before school was out for the rest of the day so student council could finish details for the dance. The last 30 minutes of school felt like it was going on forever. I didn't want to go so I could spend 5 hours like every other girl was about to do when they got home to do their hair and makeup. I just truly want to get out of this hell hole.
When the bell finally rang it was like a zoo had unlocked all of its cages. Everyone racing out towards their lockers and cars. Everyone pushing their way through the crowds in the halls just to make it to their lockers. I meet up with Dylan before trying to fight my way through the halls. We sat there for a moment before we attempted to make our way to our lockers. There still were a lot of people in the hallway. As we tried to make our way through tons of people, I was pushed over and ended up landing on top of someone. When I opened my eye I was surprised to see who was under me.
